The trustees of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation have awarded Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company a three-year, $600,000 grant as part of a new initiative to expand the commissioning for the development of new plays for the American stage - while providing audiences greater transparency into the artistic process
On October 19th at 7:30PM, a special reading will take at the James Christy Access Theater of James Christy's Put Them Away, starring Cady Huffman (Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Producers) and Paul O'Brien (Equus) and directed by Hal Brooks (Obie-winning No Child).
Steppenwolf Theatre Company has launched a free, bi-weekly podcast featuring unique interviews with Steppenwolf artists about their work on-stage and behind-the-scenes, hosted by Associate Artistic Director David New. New podcast episodes are available every other Wednesday on Steppenwolf's website and iTunes.
