Company is a musical comedy based on a book by George Furth with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. The original production premiered in 1970 and was nominated for a record-setting fourteen Tony Awards and won six. Company opens tonight, July 5th and runs through August 18.

It Gets Better is the upbeat, exciting, and funny narrative and musical that includes moments of pain and pathos from the 'It Gets Better' you tube videos and project, started by Seattle's Dan Savage. A 6-member cast of the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) will partner with the UW Chorale, from the University of Washington, and over the course of a one-week residency, these artists will collaborate with other local performers, citizens, and educational and government institutions in building a community performance responding to the issue of bullying in local schools, culminating with a staged musical program at The Moore Theatre on February 23rd.

The Metropolitan Opera today announced the winners of the 2012 National Council Auditions. They are: Janai Brugger, soprano from Darien, IL; Anthony Clark Evans, baritone from Owensboro, KY; Matthew Grills, tenor from Newtown, CT; Margaret Mezzacappa, mezzo-soprano from Euclid, OH; and Andrey Nemzer, countertenor from Moscow, Russia. The winners were selected from nine finalists who performed arias with the MET Orchestra, conducted by Andrew Davis. Each winner receives a cash prize of $15,000, as well as invaluable career exposure: the audience for the auditions includes influential opera executives, artist managers, and music critics, and some of the biggest stars in opera received their first major recognition as National Council Winners.
The Grand Finals Concert was hosted by renowned bass-baritone Eric Owens, a 1996 National Council Auditions winner. During the judges' deliberations, he gave a special performance of "Ella giammai m'amo," King Philip's aria from Verdi's Don Carlo.

Established to welcome and thank our LGBT audience members, Cygnet's 2010/2011 Season includes one night per production with a free pre-show mixer including cocktails, appetizers and enter-to-wins. Everyone is welcome to attend, with a distinct focus on the LGBT Community. Remaining OUT NIGHT dates include October 20th (Living Together), December 15th (It's a Wonderful Life), February 16th (The Tragedy of the Commons), April 27th (Cabaret) and July 6th (Our Town).
