Deadline has reported that playwright Keenan Scott II, whose play Thoughts of a Colored Man is a likely to be staged on Broadway post-shutdown,  has signed with A3 Artists Agency.

On Saturday, February 22, I had the pleasure of seeing the opening performance of THE LITTLE MERMAID at the Downtown Cabaret Children's Theatre, in Bridgeport, CT. This adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story, made famous to younger generations by the animated Disney movie is written by Phill Hill.  Having never personally read the Hans Christian Andersen story, my character name references will be based on the Disney adaptation, which I do believe is likely to be the version most well known.  Ricky Altamirano directs, choreographs and stars as Hermit, the crab Disney calls a?oeSebastian.a??

Baltimore Center Stage announces the cast and artistic team for the world premiere play, Thoughts of a Colored Man. This journey through the 21st Century mind captures the strengths, weaknesses, and deepest fears of men striving to discover their identities.

Syracuse Stage opens its 2019/2020 season with a world premiere production of Thoughts of a Colored Man, written by Keenan Scott II and directed by Steve H. Broadnax III. It is co-produced with Baltimore Center Stage and two commercial producers, Brian Moreland and Ron Simons, who anticipate moving this new play to New York after the run in Syracuse and Baltimore (beginning October 10). The play is real, raw, and truly captivating; the emotional and powerful stories are conveyed through music, dance, and poetic language.

Today, producers Brian Moreland and Ron Simons announced casting for the world premiere of Thoughts of a Colored Man, the new play by Keenan Scott II, directed by Steve H. Broadnax III, and choreographed by Millicent Marie Johnnie in a co-production with Syracuse Stage and Baltimore Center Stage.

In honor of its 30th anniversary, two-time Academy Award®-winner (Best Original Score and Best Original Song “Under the Sea,” 1989) “The Little Mermaid,” dives into the highly celebrated Walt Disney Signature Collection with all-new bonus features and a sing-along mode. The magical, musical tale of mermaid princess Ariel — along with loveable sidekicks Sebastian and Flounder, and the love-to-hate sea witch Ursula — is shore to make a splash with all generations when it comes home for the first time Digitally in HD, 4K Ultra HD  and Movies Anywhere on Feb. 12, and on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on Feb. 26.

A SOULFUL CHRISTMAS cast member Burgandy Williams will perform at The 2018 Emery Awards this evening - Wednesday, November 7, 2018 - at Cipriani Wall Street (55 Wall Street, NYC). Ms. Williams was a performer at last year's ceremony, singing Aretha Franklin's "Rock Steady."  She returns this year with another Queen of Soul classic - "Respect." The event will be hosted by Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (NBC's "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert"), and also features a performance from singer We McDonald (2017 finalist on NBC's "The Voice").
