On Friday March 26, New York Theatre Workshop will host a closed reading of THE CONSEQUENCES, a new musical by Kyle Jarrow and Nathan Leigh. A bittersweet indie rock love story about roads not taken and dreams not followed, THE CONSEQUENCES is a winking deconstruction of the romantic comedy genre, exploring themes of fate, choice and the difficulty of knowing one's own heart.

Olivier-Winning SPRING AWAKENING to Get West End Revival?

Following Sunday night's Olivier Awards, a rush of Tweets wondered if Spring Awakening might be revived due to its success. Its two Welsh leads, Aneurin Barnard and Iwan Rheon, received a double win as Best Actor in a Musical and Best Supporting Performance in a Musical respectively. While the show recieved penty of critical plaudits, the musical failed to survive longer than five weeks in the West End after its transfer from its sold-out Lyric Hammersmith run. Could a West End revival really be in the works, or is this just wishful thinking?

The 2010 Olivier Awards will take place on 21 March 2010 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, with Spring Awakening, Enron, Jerusalem and A Little Night Music among the standouts of the season with the most nominations. The Laurence Olivier Awards were established in 1976 as The Society of West End Theatre Awards, and Lord Olivier agreed to have his name associated with them in 1984. The Awards are run by The Society of London Theatre but are adjudicated by panels that are equally made up of members of the theatregoing public and experts chosen for their knowledge and professional experience.
