Grammy and Tony award-winning songwriter and composer Duncan Sheik returns with his new album WHISPER HOUSE, from Sony Music. WHISPER HOUSE marks Sheik's first solo album since 2006's critically-acclaimed White Limousine and comes on the heels of the success of Spring Awakening. WHISPER HOUSE, which will have its world premiere at the Old Globe Theatre in January 2010, is a collaboration with up-and-coming young playwright Kyle Jarrow, already an Obie winner for A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant.

Whisper House, a musical theatre production featuring an original score by Grammy and Tony award winning songwriter and composer Duncan Sheik, will have its theatrical debut January 13 at The Old Globe Theatre in San Diego.

On Wednesday June 26th, 2006, my best friend and I walked into the Atlantic Theatre Company to see the, then, Off-Broadway show 'Spring Awakening'. The theater was small and there was an electric feeling in the air. We were familiar with the show's composer Duncan Shiek's music so we got the last 2 tickets available. What exploded from the stage that evening left us breathless. We chatted with Steven Sater during intermission and he said that they had just found out that the show was moving but they didn't know where. Well, where was to Broadway! Old Globe Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that Tony and Grammy Award winner Duncan Sheik will perform in concert with members of his touring band at the Globe prior to the World Premiere of his new musical, Whisper House, on Jan. 11 at 8:00 p.m. Sheik has toured extensively this year and will perform songs from Whisper House and his other acclaimed albums. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Globe's education activities. Tickets to Duncan Sheik in Concert are currently available by subscription only. Single tickets will go on sale on Dec. 11 at 10:00 a.m.
