Fisher Theatre Offers On-Stage Seating for SPRING AWAKENING, Runs 4/20-5/9

On Monday, March 29, a limited number of on-stage seating tickets will be available for sale for every performance of Spring Awakening. The Tony Award®-winning musical is playing at Detroit's Fisher Theatre from April 20 to May 9, 2010. The on-stage seats give theatre goers a different perspective of the show, allowing them to experience the performance taking place all around them.

On-stage seats are priced at $25 and are available for purchase in-person only at the Fisher Theatre box office, located at 3011 W. Grand Blvd., in Detroit. Box office hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please call for weekend hours as the box office is closed if there are no weekend events.

For the safety of the patrons and the performers, on-stage ticket holders will be asked to adhere to the special seating procedures that will be provided to them at the time of purchase.

Set against the backdrop of a repressive and provincial late 19th century Germany, Spring Awakening tells the timeless story of teenage self-discovery and budding sexuality as seen through the eyes of three teenagers. Haunting and provocative, Spring Awakening celebrates an unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with a power, a poignancy and a passion you will never forget.

Based on the infamous 1891 Frank Wedekind play, Spring Awakening features an electrifying score by Duncan Sheik, book and lyrics Steven Sater, direction by Michael Mayer and choreography by the award-winning Bill T. Jones.

Performance times for Spring Awakening, appearing April 20 - May 9, 2010 at the Fisher Theatre, located at 3011 W. Grand Blvd., in Detroit, are:

- Tuesday through Saturday performances at 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday matinee performances at 2:00 p.m.
- Sunday evening performances at 7:30 p.m. (No evening performance May 9)
