The Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP) announced the nominees for its APAP Awards. APAP will recognize the nominees and announce the final award recipients at The APAP Honors, as well as celebrate the recipients of the Annual NAPAMA Awards and Halsey & Alice North Award for APAP Board Alumni.

The Association of Performing Arts Professionals announced the nominees for its APAP Awards, including Dallas Black Dance Theatre Executive Director Zenetta S. Drew. The APAP Honors, a virtual ceremony, will take place on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. (EDT). The event is free and open-to-the-public.

The final slot in Bridge Street Theatre's 2021 Winter Dance Residency Initiative will be filled by the women of Passion Fruit Dance Company. The troupe will be housed at the theatre in Catskill from March 29 through April 11 doing developmental work on a new piece by Tatiana Desardouin called “Trapped”.

Due to popular demand, Catskill's Bridge Street Theatre has extended the viewing availability of its free online video excerpt from #QueertheBallet, and has received permission from the other participants in its Winter Dance Residency initiative to keep clips of the work they're creating as part of this project available online indefinitely.

Works & Process produced a four-part docuseries Isolation to Creation, by filmmaker Nic Petry of Dancing Camera, provides audiences with the rare opportunity to go into the bubbles and behind the scenes to experience the hope, joy, exhilarating physical struggle, and emotional challenges experienced by performers returning to the studio and stage. 

Next up in Bridge Street Theatre's ongoing 2021 Winter Dance Residency initiative is French-Vietnamese dance artist Mai Lê Hô's LayeRhythm. The troupe will be using their two-week residency at the Hudson Valley-based performing arts complex (February 1 - 12) to develop a new piece called SWITCH, culminating in an online performance excerpt from Section One (out of five) of this evening-length work-in-progress.

Choreographer Adriana Pierce and dancers Remy Young and Sierra Armstrong, both from American Ballet Theatre, have joined the six previously-announced projects as part of a Dance Residency initiative at Hudson Valley’s Bridge Street Theatre.
