THE PLATFORM LDN is a concert series that will run in parallel with THE PLATFORM NYC presented by TWENTYSOMETHING PRODUCTIONS in association with SMASH composer Drew Gasparini.

The Old Globe will open its 2013-14 Season with The Last Goodbye, a new musical that marries Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and the incendiary songs of the legendary singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley. Conceived and adapted by Michael Kimmel, the rock musical is directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). Choreography is by Sonya Tayeh ("So You Think You Can Dance"), and orchestrations, music direction and arrangements are by Kris Kukul. The complete creative team and casting, as well as the remainder of the Globe's new season, will be announced at a later date. The Last Goodbye will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sept. 20 - Nov. 3, 2013. Preview performances run Sept. 20 - Oct. 5. Opening night is Sunday, Oct. 6. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Last week I had the distinct pleasure of speaking with Broadway headliner and SMASH Season Two Breakout star Jeremy Jordan about a wide range of topics, covering the vast majority of his career thus far in anticipation of the upcoming New York Pops Stephen Schwartz concert event, THE WIZARD & I: THE MUSICAL JOURNEY OF STEPHEN SCHWARTZ, on April 12 at Carnegie Hall. So, today, in this all-encompassing conversation, Jordan and I discuss his preparation for the sure-to-be sensational Schwartz event and provides analysis and ideas on the songs he will be performing as well as Schwartz's oeuvre in general. Also, Schwartz reveals a plethora of information about Season Two of NBC's musical drama series SMASH and what we can expect from the series over the next several weeks as the drama heats up and HIT LIST hits the stage. Also, Jordan reveals preliminary information about the forthcoming feature film adaptation of Jason Robert Brown's celebrated Off Broadway musical THE LAST FIVE YEARS, co-starring fellow Broadway/Hollywood crossover Anna Kendrick, and he shares some initial impressions of the project, as well as new details about what we can expect from the highly anticipated Richard LaGravenese-directed movie musical that is set to start shooting in June. On March 18th, Remy Zaken and Gabe Violett, who rose to fame in Broadway's Spring Awakening, will show another side with (re)Introducing Remy and Gabe. The 7pm concert at the Laurie Beechman Theater, will feature the duo singing popular hits and brand new songs, as well as sharing funny and intimate stories.

Katharine McPhee leads a brand new contemporary-sounding SMASH track titled 'Good For You'. The song is written by Jimmy, the troubled modern musical theatre writer newly introduced in the second season of NBC's musical drama series, played by NEWSIES star Jeremy Jordan.

Libra Theater Company presents Songs You Should Know, A Concert of New Music from Great Writers, including new and rarely performed songs. Hosted by John Early, the concert is set for tonight, February 11th, 2013 at 9:30 pm (Doors open at 9:00 pm) at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, 407 West 42nd Street.

Pace University's Pace New Musicals program, dedicated to the discovery of new theater works, and Ryan Scott Oliver, composer-lyricist and producer, will present a staged reading of I Capture the Castle by Marion Adler, Peter Foley and Cara Reichel January 23-27, and its inaugural New Musical Lab, a concert reading of Make Me Bad, by Drew Gasparini and Alex Brightman, which will be presented January 26-27.

Libra Theater Company will present a second installment of Songs You Should Know, a concert of new and rarely performed songs by some of today's most exciting music theater writers.

SMASH makes it's long-awaited return to the NBC lineup for a second season on Tuesday, February 5 (9-10 p.m. ET) and will continue in its regular time slot on Tuesday, February 12 (10-11 p.m. ET). Season two will feature a slew of new talent, including Jennifer Hudson, Jeremy Jordan, Andy Mientus, Krysta Rodriguez, Sean Hayes, Jesse L. Martin, Liza Minnelli, Bernadette Peters, Nikki Blonski, and more.

Hot off the release of his new album, 'Drafts (Volume One),' composer Alexander Sage Oyen is bringing his songs to 54 Below tonight, January 19th! The first in Drew Overcash's new Exposed series, Pfeil has performed Joe's Pub, the American Theatre of Actors, Sidewalk Cafe, Le Patisserie, and The Bitter End. He was the resident composer with the ESL children's theatre company in Korea where he developed and produced The Nanny, Charlie's Video Game Adventure and Finding Home and his one man show Billy & Blake was recently premiered at the Tongue and Cheek Theatre. Also a proud AEA member, Pfeil has recently been seen in Man of La Mancha, A Christmas Carol (Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey), Little Shop of Horrors (New Repertory Theatre), Paula Vogel's A Civil War Christmas (Huntington Theatre Company), Assassins (Company One), To Kill a Mockingbird (UCCS Theatreworks).
