F. Michael Haynie, John Early and More Join Libra Theater's SONGS YOU SHOULD KNOW, 2/11

Libra Theater Company presents Songs You Should Know, A Concert of New Music from Great Writers, including new and rarely performed songs. Hosted by John Early, the concert is set for Monday, February 11th, 2013 at 9:30 pm (Doors open at 9:00 pm) at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, 407 West 42nd Street.

Tickets are $15 plus a $15 food/drink minimum. To reserve seats, email with your name, phone number, and the number of seats you'd like to reserve.

Libra Theater Company is excited to present a second installment of Songs You Should Know, a concert of new and rarely performed songs by some of today's most exciting music theater writers. Songs You Should Know includes work from Joshua Salzman and Ryan Cunningham (I Love You Because, Next Thing You Know), Drew Gasparini (Crazy, Just Like Me, Make Me Bad), Timothy Huang (2 to Wakefield, Crossing Over), Bobby Cronin (Welcome To My Life, The Concrete Jungle), Rob Rokicki (Love, NY), Sam Carner and Derek Gregor (Unlock'd, Island Song), Paul Gordon (Jane Eyre, Emma, Daddy Long Legs), Annie Kessler and Louise Beechman, and Shaina Taub (The Daughters).

Performers will include Jennifer Bissell (Media Theatre's Hairspray, Spring Awakening), Lauren Blackman (A Tree Grows in Brooklyn), Maddy Clapps (Libra's Songs You Should Know and The Entropy Songs), Katrina Rose Dideriksen (Bloodsong of Love, Pregnancy Pact), J. Austin Eyer (Evita, How to Succeed...), Jenna Leigh Green (Wicked), F. Michael Haynie (Wicked, Dogfight), Timothy Hughes (Chaplin), Marissa McGowan (Bonnie & Clyde, A Little Night Music), Megan Mekjian (Fiddler on the Roof National Tour), Jeff Raab (Libra's 12th Night - NY Innovative Theatre Award Winner), Brendt Reil (42nd Street National Tour), Preston Sadleir (Playwrights' Me Myself & I), Emily Tyra (Chaplin, Nice Work If You Can Get It), Jessica Wagner (Li'l Abner and All American with Musicals Tonight!), Victoria Weinberg (Libra's 12th Night), Ellen Laura White (Don't Tell Mama), and Raena White (The Marriott's Dreamgirls).

Libra Theater Company is dedicated to creating quality New York theater that honors and works with the commitments of its artists. In its 2011-2012 season, Libra presented a sold out, critically-acclaimed production of 12th Night that won a NY Innovative Theatre Award for "Outstanding Original Music," and Poems & Moons Songs, an enchanting revue of the music of Will Reynolds. Additionally, Libra has produced The Entropy Songs, by 2011 Jonathan Larson Grant recipient Joshua H. Cohen, as well as Fleet Week and Other Reasons to Sail, a concert of songs by Sam Carner and Derek Gregor. Up next, Libra Theater Company is mounting the world premiere of Joshua H. Cohen's play, The Thirteenth Commandment.
