Shrek the Musical is now open at 3-D Theatricals! What did the critics think? Read all the reviews!

As the final show of its 10th Anniversary Season, 3-D Theatricals is revisiting the hilarious SHREK - THE MUSICAL, the stage musical adaptation of the hit 2001 Dreamworks animated film, itself an adaptation of William Steig's 1990 novel. Witty, silly, and, at times, surprisingly full of heart, SHREK is a fun, madcap distraction we all need these days. The impressive, high-quality production continues at the gorgeous, state-of-the-art Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts through August 25, 2019.

REBEL GENIUS, a new musical about the early life of Albert Einstein, has been awarded a staged reading as part of the ASCAP New Musical Theatre Workshop. With book, music, and lyrics by Peabody Award-winning composer, Matthew Puckett and direction by Becky Boesen, the staged reading will take place on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 7:30 PM at the Lied Center for the Performing Arts' Carson Theatre (301 N 12th Street, Lincoln, NE). Tickets are free to the public and can be reserved online at liedcenter.org. Broadway composer and librettist Scott Frankel and Michael Korie (War Paint, Grey Gardens) will lead a panel discussion immediately following the reading to offer feedback to the creative team.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group, the esteemed theater company has also launched a new division: the Atlantis Imaginarium Young Theatre (AIYT), which aims to produce live entertainment primarily targeting families with young kids.

One of the most impactful theatre experiences I've had in the last year was seeing the Gettysburg Community Theatre Penguin Project's production of The Wizard of Oz. I have been looking forward to their next production, and it is finally upon us. Between the teamwork displayed by the actors, the passion they put into their acting and singing, and the support of the audience, it is a magical time. Starting on August 16th, GCT's Penguin Project will be bringing Madagascar: A Musical Adventure, Jr. to the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center in Hanover. Madagascar is based on the 2005 animated DreamWorks film. It features a group of lovable animals at the Central Park Zoo. Marty the zebra longs for adventure, and boy does he get one-along with his friends Alex, Melman, and Gloria, they end up in Madagascar. Join Marty, his friends, some crazy penguins, and a pack of lemurs for the adventure of a lifetime this weekend only! On Friday, July 26, I had the pleasure of seeing the musical comedy SHREK, THE MUSICAL, as put on by Musicals at Richter in Danbury, CT.  Directed by Lindsay O'Neil, this talented cast brings these characters to life! The outdoor venue on the grounds of the Richter House Arts Center is perfect for this show. I highly recommend this show!

Everybody's Talking About Jamie, the smash-hit, critically acclaimed West End musical is to embark on its first UK tour in 2020. Initial casting includes West End star Layton Williams as Jamie New and EastEnders' much-loved Shane Richie as Hugo / Loco Chanelle. Both Layton and Shane will be reprising their roles from the West End production. The tour commences in February 2020 in Sheffield, where the show is set and first opened four years ago.
