THE WOLVES Launches Capital Stage's 14th Season

Capital Stage launches its 14th season with the Sacramento Premiere of the 2017 Pultizer Prize Finalist The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe. This dramatic comedy follows nine teenage girls that make up the Wolves, an indoor soccer team, warming up before each game of the season. As they warm up and talk about life, the girls navigate the politics of their personal lives as well as politics of the larger world. Each team member struggles to discover their individuality while being part of the group. The resulting bonds that form are clear and undeniable. The Wolves will be directed by renowned Bay Area Actor and Director Nancy Carlin. It will be the first production of Capital Stage's 2018/19 Season: #SearchingForAmerica. Performances will run from August 29 - September 30, 2018 with a Press Opening on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 8:00 pm.

Steven Dietz's ON CLOVER ROAD Starring Renee O'Connor Opens Sept. 21 At Little Fish Theatre

A seedy, abandoned motel room is the location of Steven Dietz's On Clover Road, where a desperate mother unites with a hard-boiled private investigator in the hope of reuniting with her cult-member young daughter. Opening September 21 in its Los Angeles premiere at Little Fish Theatre, On Clover Road spotlights a star turn by actor Renee O'Connor and is directed by StageSceneLA Award Winner and LFT company member Holly Baker-Kreiswirth.

DLDF Will Raise Censorship Awareness with BANNED TOGETHER Concerts Across the US

On September 24, Joe's Pub will present Banned Together: A Censorship Cabaret- a celebration of songs and scenes from shows that have been censored or challenged on America's stages, created to raise awareness around issues of censorship and free expression in the Theater. The event will feature performances of featured selections from CABARET, CHICAGO, 3C, RENT, INDECENT, and ANGELS IN AMERICA, among other notable works, with contextual commentary by writers John Weidman and JT Rogers.

TNC's Dream Up Festival To Present GLITCHED

'Glitched,' written and directed by Melissa Maney, is a dark fantasy horror story in which a woman faces a phobia on a carnival ride but finds more to fear than she'd bargained for.  Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival will present the play's world premiere August 26 to September 4.

Montana Repertory Theatre Launches 2018 Educational Outreach Tour

University of Montana's Montana Repertory Theatre presents its Fall Educational Outreach Tour of Morgan and Merlin. Written by playwright Laramie Dean and directed by Rosie Ayers, this magical and mystical tale whisks us to another time and place where knights and dragons, kings and wizards rub elbows with a modern day sorceress with a fantastic surprise up her bejeweled sleeve. Played out by only two actors, the 50-minute play features puppetry, vocal recordings, and theatrical effects.

The Morris Museum to Launch New Inside Cinema Film Series

The Morris Museum will launch its new Inside Cinema Film Series on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 10:00AM in the Bickford Theatre. During this season, this film series will focus on film Noir, and will be hosted monthly by David Landau, a professor of film at Fairleigh Dickinson University.  For each screening there will be a discussion with David before the film to provide further insights.

New York Youth Symphony Now Accepting Applications For Musical Theater Composition Program

Now entering its 56th season, the New York Youth Symphony (NYYS) is launching a Musical Theater Composition (MTC) program, to be led by newly-appointed director Anna K. Jacobs. In a partnership with the Harlem School of the Arts, this new program aims to diversify the world of musical theater by creating opportunities for young composers to have their compositions workshopped and performed by both peers and professionals.
