Lakewood Theatre Company Announces OTAS Award Winners

On Tuesday, June 30, 2015, Lakewood Theatre Company/Lakewood Center for the Arts held its annual meeting and OTAS (Oregon Theatrical Awards Society) presentation at the Lakewood Center to celebrate the closing of its 62nd season of plays and its 44th annual OTAS Awards. Emcee for the evening was Alan Shearman, a frequent Lakewood stage director and past OTAS award winner and upcoming director of Lakewood's 2015/16 season production of Bullshot Crummond: The Evil Eye of Jabar and the Invisible Bride of Death.

Part of the fun is figuring out what's going to happen and where the whole thing is headed. It took me until intermission to figure things out, as Freed throws a big surprise at the audience right before the act break that tells us once and for all what we're watching.

Lakewood Theatre Company continues its 61st season on November 1, 2013 with Inspecting Carol. Get your holiday cheer on with this hilarious, madcap comedy! Behind the scenes of a struggling theatre's annual slapdash production of A Christmas Carol, rehearsals are at a standstill. Tim is no longer Tiny, Scrooge wants to do the play in Spanish (Feliz Navidad), and their funding is on hold pending an inspection. This laugh out loud spoof makes for a night at the theatre that is anything but show business as usual. Parental advisory: the show is recommended for ages 13 and up, contains some mild profanity. Lakewood Theatre Company will celebrate its 57th anniversary season with six productions beginning July 10, 2009. Season tickets for the 2009-2010 season are on sale now and prices range from $140.00 - $150.00. Performances for the new season will be Thursday -Saturday at 7:30 PM, Sundays at 7:00 PM and some Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM.
