Abdul Latif Creates World Premiere For Ashley Bouder Project At The Joyce

Abdul Latif, known for his urban contemporary dance aesthetic and juxtaposed movement, will present the world premiere of Alas, with The Ashley Bouder Project, as part of the Joyce Ballet Festival, July 2-5. As part of a program dedicated to promoting diversity within the performing arts world, Latif joins Lauren Lovette, Liz Gerring, and Annabelle Lopez-Ochoa, to create new works on Bouder's ensemble.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Queen Diva in "Strength of a Woman: A Phyllis Hyman Tribute" on September 3, 2018. The 75 minute  tribute begins with Phyllis Hyman's days with Duke Ellington's "Sophisticated Ladies Medley-A Train, It Don't Mean A Thing, In A Sentimental Mood" to her pivotal vocal performance in Spike Lee's "School Daze" singing "Be One"  to her recording career beginning with Norman Connors singing "Betcha By Golly Wow" to  her favorite songs "What You Won't Do For Love," to "Old Friend" a song she would dedicate to her numerous dear friends who died of AIDS in the late 1980's and early 1990's.

Dolores O'Riordan's Children Presented with $250,000 Check by Bad Wolves

Last night at a sold out Gramercy Theatre in New York City, Bad Wolvespresented a $250,000 check to Dolores O' Riordan's family onstage prior to a performance of 'Zombie'. O'Riordan's two sons, Donny Jr. and Taylor Burton, alongside their father, Don Burton, were presented with the gift in an emotional moment. The cheque was also accepted on behalf of their younger sisters, Molly and Dakota Burton.

NY Madness Announces The Fascist Playbook Madness

The theme for the May edition of New York Madness is 'The Fascist Playbook' Madness. The show will take place on Sunday, June 24th at 8pm at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery). Cheryl Paley is co-producing the June edition of New York Madness and chose this month's theme.

Following Odyssey Opera's 2017-18 season dedicated to works inspired by Joan of Arc, Artistic and General Director Gil Rose today announced the company's 2018-19 season: a two-part journey with the first memorializing the 200th anniversary of French composer Charles Gounod's birth (as well as the 125th death anniversary), and the second inspired by one of the most enigmatic figures in ancient history, Helen of Troy. Celebrating its sixth season as one of the nation's most innovative opera companies, Odyssey Opera will present one U.S. premiere, four Boston premieres, three fully-staged productions, and two concert operas. Williamston Theatre Finishes The 2017-2018 Season With A Michigan Premiere of MEMOIR

Mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company, Williamston Theatre, located at 122 S. Putnam Street in downtown Williamston, finishes out its 2017-2018 Season with the Michigan Premiere or Memoir by John Murrell. Performances begin Thursday, July 12 and run through Sunday, August 19. Rodney Cromwell Releases 'Rodney's English Disco' EP

British indietronica synthpop artist Rodney Cromwell presents his new 'Rodney's English Disco' EP, his first collection of all new material in three years. Previewed by the song 'Comrades', which also features a 12' extended dance mix by electronica act Vieon, as well as a BBC 6 special preview of 'Barbed Wire', the new EP will be available on 7' vinyl, CD and digitally via London-based Happy Robots Records.
