The Playwrights of the 2025 La MaMa Umbria International Master Playwrights Retreat have announced 'Under the Umbrian Sun,' an exclusive three-day Off-Off-Broadway reading series.

Behind-the-scenes antics, a play within a play, and costumed comedy are well loved because they work, and INTO THE BREECHES! combines them in wartime for a fun night at the theatre.  INTO THE BREECHES! is playing at North Coast Repertory Theatre through November 13th. 

That time-honored adage, “The Show Must Go On,” takes on new meaning in this endearing and moving comedy. INTO THE BREECHES! transports audiences to a small American playhouse in 1942. Check out photos here!

North Coast Repertory Theatre will present INTO THE BREECHES! October 19 through November 13th. Opening Night on Saturday, October 22, at 8pm. There will be special talkback on Friday, October 28, with the cast and artistic director.

North Coast Repertory Theatre launches Season 41 with a slate of two World Premieres, one West Coast Premiere, and one San Diego Premiere highlighting an engaging, eclectic 2022-2023 seven-play series.

Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, To Kill a Mockingbird, will be staged at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival tonight, March 8-24. Four additional performances will take place May 12, 15, 17 and 18 during ASF's final week of the repertory season. Adapted for the stage by Christopher Sergel, the play is directed by Diana Van Fossen.

The Alabama Shakespeare Festival will roll into its repertory season when William Shakespeare's comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor opens on April 13 followed by Henry VIII on April 19. In addition to the openings of these two Shakespearean works, two comedies The Thirty Nine Steps and Travels My Aunt will reopen for the second half of their runs on April 22. ASF's Extreme Weekends, in which theatre lovers can see all four repertory shows Friday through Sunday are available April 20-22 and 27-29 as well as May 4-6, 11-13 and 18-20.

The 2011 Spring Repertory season at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival will include Ron Hutchinson's comedy Moonlight and Magnolias and Shakespeare's Much Ado about Nothing and Julius Caesar. Three 'Extreme Weekends' are available where all three shows can be seen in the same weekend on April 30 - May 1, May 7-8, and May 21 - 22.
