The national tour of ANYTHING GOES, the new Broadway revival of Cole Porter's timeless classic musical theatre masterpiece, will make its Cincinnati premiere February 17-22 as part of the 2014-2015 Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Cincinnati Season presented by TriHealth. In a little town known as New York City, on a tiny street known as Broadway, the Roundabout Theatre Company took the 1930's Cole Porter classic Anything Goes and revived it on the Great White Way. Starring Tony Winner (soon to be two time Tony Winner) Sutton Foster as Reno Sweeney, Broadway's sweetheart Laura Osnes in the role of Hope Harcourt, and the legendary Joel Grey as Moonface Martin. The show went on to win the 2011 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, awarded Foster her second Tony, and also took home the prize for Best Choreography before closing in July 2012. Two years later, the award-winning revival hit the road in the U.S. national tour, surprisingly (coming from someone who saw the revival on Broadway) rivaling its New York counterpart.

If you've been secretly praying for a good old fashioned love story wrapped up in a delicious Cole Porter score, dazzling costumes, highly polished performances and slick, high-energy production numbers then the current national touring production of ANYTHING GOES, which is docked at The McCallum Theatre for the Thanksgiving weekend, is the answer to your prayers. This most recent revival of the high-spirited musical farce (originally produced in 1934) is first class all the way.

ANYTHING GOES premiered in 1934, and the story takes place around the same year. The cruise liner the SS American journeys across the pond to London. The passengers are comprised of the luxurious upper class, sailors, gangsters, gamblers, entertainers, and a stowaway stock broker. Essentially, ANYTHING GOES is chock-full of shipboard romance between young and old, rich and poor. This leads to a quirky love story that is plentiful with comedic twists and turns.

Students from Lawrence Academy of Music will have a chance to appear alongside Broadway performers in Elf the Musical at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center today, November 13-18. The young performers between the ages of 5 and 12 will include Nora Austin, Pippa Austin, Gavin Burkheimer, Eleanora Dane, Izzy Dane, Roseanna Dane, Nathaniel James, August McLaughlin, Sylvia Polansky, Will Scheffler, Maura Tarnowski and Annika Urness.
