The cast of a?oeRodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!a?? celebrated today their 2020 Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theater Album. 

The groundbreaking, history-making Broadway revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! is celebrating the #2 position on the official Billboard Cast Album chart in its debut week, following Hamilton (#1) and beating out Dear Evan Hansen (#3) and Wicked (#4).

Tuesday, August 6th, Stellene Volandes, Editor in Chief of Town & Country Magazine hosted an afternoon Oklahoma! event at Hearst Tower which was comprised of a panel cast discussion and performances of “Oh What A Beautiful Morning”, “Lonely Room” and “People Will Say We're In Love” by Damon Daunno, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Mallory Portnoy and Patrick Vaill accompanied by the show's musical director Nathan Koci.

Instead, David Yazbek's lyrics and music stay stuck in the bygone era of the early 1980s, leaning heavily on the tired and inherently transphobic a?oeman in a dressa?? gag and a rather generic sounding Broadway score rooted firmly in the most rudimentary basics of musical writing.

To celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the global blockbuster musical WICKED, Verve/UMe will release WICKED: The 15th Anniversary Special Edition, a special 2 CD set of the Grammy Award-winning Original Cast Recording that also includes four bonus tracks recorded live during the NBC Special, "A Very Wicked Halloween," which aired nationally on October 29, 2018.
