The searing new play Sweat begins previews on Broadway tomorrow Saturday, March 4 at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). Following a sold out, critically acclaimed engagement at New York's Public Theater, Sweat, the new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage, directed by Kate Whoriskey will officially open on Broadway on March 26, 2017.

Just last night, Tectonic Theater Project celebrated Tectonic At 25!, a benefit performance celebrating 25 years of groundbreaking theater. The star-studded evening, directed by Tectonic Theater Project founder Moises Kaufman and hosted by and starring two-time Academy Award winner Jane Fonda, took place at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place, New York, NY 10012).

Tectonic Theater Project has announced Tectonic At 25!, an anniversary benefit performance celebrating 25 years of groundbreaking theater. Berkeley Rep Raises More Than $750,000 at Speakeasy Gala

On Saturday night, April 2, nearly 350 of the Bay Area's finest arts supporters gathered at The Ritz Carlton, San Francisco to celebrate Berkeley Rep, the Tony Award-winning theatre company known for its innovative and challenging works. Gene Luen Yang Named 5th National Ambassador for Young People's Literature

NEW YORK, Jan. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ The Children's Book Council (CBC), Every Child a Reader (ECAR), and the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress (CFB) have announced the appointment of Gene Luen Yang, Printz Award winner and two-time National Book Award finalist, as National Ambassador for Young People's Literature. The program was established by the three organizations in 2008 to highlight the importance of young people's literature as it relates to lifelong literacy, education, and the development and betterment of the lives of young people. Yang will travel nationwide over the course of his two-year term promoting his platform, 'Reading Without Walls,' showing kids and teens that reading is a vital part of their lives, and speaking to parents, teachers, librarianseveryone invested in young people's literacyabout how better to connect with kids and teens and help them love reading. Yang succeeds beloved and esteemed authors Jon Scieszka (20082009), Katherine Paterson (20102011), Walter Dean Myers (20122013), and Kate DiCamillo (20142015) in the position. Gene Luen Yang is the first-ever graphic novelist to be named National Ambassador for Young People's Literature.
