The Dance Historian Is In, a monthly series at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, will present a discussion of the early careers of dance legends Frederick Ashton, Agnes de Mille, and Antony Tudor in 1930's England, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, 1:00-3:00 P.M., at the Library's Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center.

South Florida Symphony Orchestra has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to receive a Grants for Arts Projects award of $10,000. This grant will support SFSO's educational initiative, “Preserving Our Coral Reef: Teams of Success.”

Ballet Hispánico, the nation's renowned and the largest Latinx cultural organization in the U.S. recognized as one of America's Cultural Treasures, will be featured on The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' David Vaughan's The Dance Historian Is In on June 30, 2021 at 1pm ET. Oakland University, one of Michigan's leading educational institutions, has announced that JOANNE DANTO is the recipient of an Honorary Doctor of Arts for her contributions to the dance community as an internationally celebrated ballet dancer and educator, and her commitment to philanthropy in raising funds to support non-profit organizations in Michigan, and other parts of the United States.

New York Theatre Ballet (Diana Byer, Founder and Artistic Director) announces its return to Danspace Project for their fifth season with their REP program (March 14-16), this year featuring Sir Richard Alston's The Seasons, Matthew Nash's The Elements of Style, and Merce Cunningham's Scramble (1967). As the "small but mighty" (The New York Times) company gears up to celebrate its 40th Anniversary, they are also pleased to announce that Sir Richard Alston-a choreographer who has spent "half century in the rigorous pursuit of purity in movement" (The Guardian), and who was knighted in this New Year's Honours-has accepted the post of Resident Choreographer for the next two seasons.

She has titled the REP evening David's Favorites.

The Sarasota Ballet's second production of the Season, Metropolitan, will open on December 1 at the Sarasota Opera House, with a triple bill by Sir Frederick Ashton, Marcelo Gomes and George Balanchine. For these performances The Sarasota Ballet will be accompanied by the Sarasota Orchestra under the baton of American Ballet Theatre Music Director Ormsby Wilkins.

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) is pleased to announce the 2017-18 Cage Cunningham Fellow, Pam Tanowitz. The choreographer is the second recipient of BAC's distinguished award established to support artists who embody John Cage and Merce Cunningham's commitment to artistic innovation.
