Vassar & New York Stage and Film have announced initial casting for the first mainstage and first musical workshop productions of the 33rd Powerhouse Season in Poughkeepsie, NY, running from June 23 through July 30, 2017:

A great difference between the Broadway theatre of today and that of the 1950s, the decade when William Inge emerged as an important American playwright, is that the public couldn't see the kind of edgy, incisive drama on their television sets that live theatre was offering.

Picnic and Come Back, Little Sheba have begun performances at The Gym at Judson. Both shows were written by William Inge and will be performed in repertory through April 16. Check out photos from their opening night below!
