Theater Latte Da today announces its 2019-2020 season

From start to finish, this year's lineup promises to surprise and delight audiences in the way only live theatre can. Civic Theatre's 2019- 2020 season is brimming with American classics, brand new musicals show for families to enjoy, and powerful shows for adults.

Chicago Opera Theater (COT) continues its 2018/2019 season with the Chicago premiere of the contemporary opera "The Scarlet Ibis." Composed by Stefan Weisman with libretto by David Cote, "The Scarlet Ibis" was declared an "outstanding new chamber opera" by David Allen of The New York Times upon its debut at the 2015 Prototype Festival. Chicago Opera Theater presents the first full production of this operatic adaptation of James Hurst's 1960 short story (apart from its festival debut), featuring the artistry of stage director Elizabeth Margolius and conductor David Hanlon. The opera stars Annie Rosen (who also performed in COT's season-opening production of "Iolanta") as Brother and Jordan Rutter as Doodle. 

PREMIERES (Paulette Haupt, Artistic Director), the New York based music theater organization whose mission is "to bring new music theater to light," is pleased to announce the cast and creative teams for this season's INNER VOICES, the biennial series of solo works featuring new teams of playwrights and composers. Performances begin TONIGHT at 8:00pm for a limited run through Saturday, November 17, 2018 at The TBG Mainstage Theatre (312 West 36th Street - between 8th & 9th Avenues). Opening Night is Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 8:00pm.

The children's classic Alice in Wonderland becomes a surreal adventure in Area Stage Company's latest musical production for its youngest artists. Director and designer Giancarlo Rodaz's wildly re-imagined version of the Disney animated film, performed by a dynamic cast of child actors and featuring original costume and set designs, will captivate kids and adults alike with its dark, fantastical vision of a girl who grapples with a nonsensical world.

As previously announced, Feinstein's/54 Below will present the haunting oratorio The Screams of Kitty Genovese in a one-night-only concert presentation. The Today, October 11th, 9:30pm performance will star Sheri Sanders in a role she originated at NYMF more than 10 years ago. She will be joined by Broadway's Lori Brown MIrabal (Show Boat, Bubblin' Brown Sugar) as Frannie.
