Way Off Broadway Stages Disney's ALICE IN WONDERLAND, Now thru 11/8

Since Way Off Broadway's producers began revamping its Children's Theatre seasons in 2011 and 2012, some of the most popular productions have been those which have come straight from the Disney Vault. Over the last several season, the Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway has produced productions of some of Disney's most popular movie titles including 101 Dalmatians, Cinderella, Aladdin, and, most recently, Peter Pan. This fall, Alice and all of her friends from Wonderland will find a home at Way Off Broadway when the theatre produces and area premier of Disney's Alice in Wonderland, Jr.

Half Moon Theatre has announced that the theme of its fourth annual 10 Minute Play Festival is "Paranormal in Poughkeepsie." The 10 Minute Play Festival, which runs this weekend, June 6-8, 2014, is an evening of theatre comprised of a series of short plays, each 10 minutes in length and written by a different playwright.

Children's Playhouse of Maryland's spring 2014 production of Disney's 'Alice In Wonderland, Jr.' showcases the talents of thirty student actors from Baltimore City, Baltimore and Harford Counties. Performances are 1 p.m. the weekends of March 1-2, 8-9, and 15 -16 in the Administration Building Lecture Hall at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Blvd. An additional 4 p.m. show March 9 will be sign language interpreted by CCBC students in the Interpreter Preparation program. Tickets are $10 general admission and are available from the CCBC Box Office, 443-840-2787 (ARTS) [Hours: Tuesday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.] or online at www.cpmarts.org. Space-permitting, tickets will be available at the door. Group tickets are also available.

IYOM, THE WINTER'S TALE and More Set for WorkShop Theater's 20th Anniversary Season

WorkShop Theater Company, and Artistic Director Scott C. Sickles, has announced its 20th season, celebrating its diverse history. WorkShop's Main Stage Season begins in September with the world premiere of Lou-Lou Igbokwe's Iyom; November marks the return of Philip Hall's highly acclaimed musical adaptation of Mark Twain's Life on the Mississippi; and the spring will bring director Ryan Lee's vision of Shakespeare's challenging classic, The Winter's Tale. In addition to developing new plays and reviving classics, WorkShop has broadened its scope in the past few years by fostering new short plays, musicals, and children's theater. This fall, WorkShop welcomes a new Managing Director, Joseph Giardina, who is also an arts education consultant for the New York City Department of Education's (NYCDOE) Office of the Arts and Special Projects.
