THE GIFT OF THE MAGI: THE MUSICAL to Run 11/21-12/1 at Players' Ring

Based on the beloved, classic short story by O. Henry, The Gift of the Magi: the Musical rings in a magical holiday season at The Players' Ring in Portsmouth. This original adaptation for the stage written by David Mauriello with music and lyrics by Robert Johnson, is a production of Awareness UNlimited of Stratham, and is directed by Deb Barry. Musical direction is shared by David Moore and Sabrina Avedisian. The show runs for ten performances from November 21 through December 1.

Historic Oakland Foundation is celebrating completion of a major restoration project at the 163-year-old Oakland Cemetery. The restoration included repairs to 42 mausoleums, known as the crown jewels of Oakland, many of which are more than 100 years old.

The LA Phil marks the 10th anniversary date of the opening of Walt Disney Concert Hall with a special Green Umbrella program presenting the world premiere of 200 Motels by L.A.'s groundbreaking iconoclast composer Frank Zappa. Conductor Laureate Esa-Pekka Salonen leads the LA Phil, and is joined by L.A.-based director James Darrah and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Also joining Salonen and the LA Phil is a cast of renowned soloists and a band that includes Ian Underwood of Zappa's The Mothers of Invention, Scott Thunes, who also played with Frank Zappa, Zappa Family Trust 'Vaultmeister' Joe Travers, and Jamie Kime of Zappa Plays Zappa.

AVATAR Sequels to Begin Production in Late 2014

In an interview with Australian radio station Nova 96.9, Sam Worthington confirmed that production on AVATAR 2 is expected to begin in October 2014, with the third and fourth film on its heels. The three sequels are expected to be released in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Gentile Chris is interested in dating a Jewish woman (Jennifer Love Hewitt) because he feels that she will make his life easier by making all of life's decisions for him.
