LIVE, announced its official US and international selections. Rooftop Films has announced its full feature film slate for 2013, featuring more than 45 outdoor screening of new independent films, including two special sneak preview screenings co-presented with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. On June 8th the two organizations will present a free screening of "Twenty Feet from Stardom," RADiUs-TWC's hit documentary that brings back-up singers to the forefront. Following the screening there will be a live performance by Darlene Love, one of the main subjects of the film. On July 20th, Rooftop and the Academy will partner again to present Cinedigm's "Short Term 12", the feature film debut of Destin Cretton. Cretton was a 2010 Academy Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship winner, and "Short Term 12" went on to win the 2013 SXSW Grand Jury Award in March.
The full line-up has been revealed for the Cannes Film Festival Critics Week. Miguel Gomes, director of Portuguese film, will preside over the jury while French director Mia Hansen-Love will serve as jury president of the short films competition.

IFC Films announced today that the company is acquiring North American rights to writer-director Sebastian Silva's CRYSTAL FAIRY, which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The film, with a screenplay by Silva, stars Michael Cera, Gaby Hoffmann, Juan Andres Silva, Jose Miguel Silva, and Agustin Silva, and was produced by Juan de Dios Larrain and Pablo Larrain. CRYSTAL FAIRY was the recipient of the Best Director Award in World Cinema at the Sundance Film Festival.
Cinedigm has acquired North American distribution rights to Israeli photographer and filmmaker Shaul Schwarz's NARCO CULTURA, which world premiered last week at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival in the Documentary Competition section. The film was produced by Parts & Labor's Lars Knudsen and Jay Van Hoy and Ocean Size Pictures' Todd Hagopian; executive produced by Fred Warren and Robin Warren; and edited by Bryan Chang and Jay Arthur Sterrenberg. It will next screen at the 2013 Berlin International Film Festival in the Panorama section. Cinedigm plans a theatrical release and awards qualifying run for the film in 2013.
