The Muny announced today that Tony and Grammy Award- winning artist Heather Headley and Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated artist Matthew Morrison will serve as co-hosts for The Muny's historic Centennial Gala show, An Evening with the Stars, May 18, 2018 at 9:15 p.m. at The Muny.

The York Symphony Orchestra will present April in Paris on Saturday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts in York. Trevor Noah is the most successful comedian in South Africa. He is currently the host of Emmy and Peabody Award winning television show The Daily Show. In 2017 The Daily Show was nominated for a Writers Guild Award (Comedy/Variety Series). Noah also recently won Best Host at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards as well as a Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series for his hosting of The Daily Show. Netflix is serving up another round of non-stop laughs with the second season of the hit of the Original comedy special series, 'The Standups,' featuring six 30-minute sets from six comic breakouts. Filmed live at the Globe Theatre in Los Angeles, 'The Standups' features the comedic talents of Rachel Feinstein, Kyle Kinane, Joe List, Brent Morin, Aparna Nancherla, and Gina Yashere. Previews begin this Friday, March 16 for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) world premiere production of THIS FLAT EARTH, a new play by Lindsey Ferrentino (Ugly Lies the Bone, the current Amy and the Orphans).  Directed by Tony Award winner Rebecca Taichman (Familiar, Stage Kiss, Milk Like Sugar at Playwrights; Indecent), the play is the fourth production of the theater company's 2017/2018 Season.

SHOWTIME announced today that new original documentary series, THE FOURTH ESTATE, directed and produced by Emmy(R)-winning and Oscar(R)-nominated filmmaker Liz Garbus (What Happened, Miss Simone?), will have its world premiere at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival, receiving the distinction of being selected as the Festival's closing night film. Following its screening on Saturday, April 28, Tribeca Film Festival will host a panel discussion with some of the subjects of the documentary including The New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet, Washington bureau chief Elisabeth Bumiller, White House correspondent Maggie Haberman, Washington investigative correspondent Mark Mazzetti and Garbus. Following its Tribeca Film Festival world premiere, THE FOURTH ESTATE will premiere on Sunday, May 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME.

Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment Commissioner Julie Menin today announced the launch of “New York in 25,” a year-long public awareness campaign promoting NYC Life, the City's official television channel, which appears as channel 25 on most cable providers, and channel 25.1 over the air. The print, digital, and broadcast campaign features prominent New Yorkers describing the reasons why they love New York City – in exactly 25 words.
