A young cast of outstanding singers from Cape Town Opera and the University of Cape Town Opera School will usher in summer with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's most joyful and uplifting masterpiece, THE MAGIC FLUTE.

Internationally acclaimed and award-winning South African based guitarist James Grace will appear at Theatre on the Bay for the first time this November. Grace will play the music of composers such as Granados, De Falla and Rodrigo in RECUERDOS, an all-Spanish guitar and dance programme that also features dancers from Carli Spanish Dance Productions.

Launched in 1994 as a co-creation between Ian von Memerty and Bryan Schimmel, A HANDFUL OF KEYS has played to more than 420 000 people in over 1450 performances over the last 23 years. Now, thanks for countless requests from the public, South Africa's most successful musical revue ever returns for a six-week season at Theatre on the Bay.

The all South African production of the West End smash hit comedy SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE has been extended owing to overwhelming demand to 25 November at the Fugard Theatre. Extra matinee performances have also been added at 16:00 on Sundays.

This year's DANCERS LOVE DOGS will take place at the Artscape Opera House at 19:30 on 1 November, aiding the mass sterilisation of animals in crisis. The hilarious comedian Alan Committie will once again open the show, which is an annual highlight on the Western Cape's dance calendar.

Lefra Productions is proud to announce that the American pop and country favourites, The Bellamy Brothers, will be touring South Africa and Namibia in November 2017. The well-known South African country singer, Jason Bradley, will serve as the opening act for The Bellamy Brothers.

The Cape Dance Company, under the artistic direction of Debbie Turner, returns to Cape Town's Artscape Theatre in November 2017 with INTERPLAY. After a successful season at the National Arts Festival, the company is delighted to present this season comprising two programmes of works that reflect the diversity of the company and its broad repertoire.

Sandra Prinsloo will star in MOEDERTAAL at the Fugard Studio Theatre for a limited season starting 14 November. Presented by Naskrif Produksies, the production comes to the Fugard Theatre off the theatre festival circuit, where it played to full houses and standing ovations.

THE BIRDCAGE, the movie that brought a political scandal into a Miami drag club to create a raucously hilarious comedy about an unorthodox family, is being brought to life at the Masque Theatre in Muizenberg.

KLIPPIES VAN DIE GROND will play a three-performance season at the Magnet Theatre in Observatory this November. This solo theatre piece, which is performed by Carlo Daniels and directed by Iman Isaacs and Raezeen Wentworth, debuted in Mitchell's Plain at Christ The Mediator Church Hall in July this year.

Due to an overwhelming response, the award-winning production of DIE REUK VAN APPELS has been extended at the Fugard Studio Theatre. It will now run until Saturday 11 November.

THREE PIZZAS, a new piece devised by Tristan de Beer, Nelson Menell and Tailyn Ramsamy, who will also perform the piece, will play The Arena Theatre at the University of Cape Town's Hiddingh Campus in Gardens this November. The play is directed by Mfundo Tshazibane.

The Furies will be staging their newest production, NASTY WOMXN, at the Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre this October and November. This work plays with Greek mythology's tendency to turn strong women into monsters, and celebrates all the different types of monsters we become to survive.

Zwelethu Radebe's 30-minute short film, THE HANGMAN, won shnit Worldwide Shortfilmfestival's 'Made in South Africa' Jury Award at the exciting finale event of the worldwide festival last night. Watch the trailer for the award-winning film here!

At an exciting finale event held at iKhaya Lodge in Gardens, Cape Town last night, 22 October, filmmaker Zwelethu Radebe from Soweto, Johannesburg won shnit Worldwide Shortfilmfestival's 'Made in South Africa' Jury Award for his 30-minute short film submission called THE HANGMAN.

Amee Lekas's DIE DANS VAN DIE WATERMEID, which means 'the dance of the water maiden,' which only existed on paper at the first editions of Kunste Onbeperk's script market, Teksmark, in Cape Town last year, will soon come to life as a fully-fledged production at the Baxter Theatre Centre.
