The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival has announced the complete lineup for the 2018 summer season.

The classic tale of the world's most infamous outlaw goes rogue in The Heart of Robin Hood, a heart-pounding, eye-popping new adventure directed by Gisli rn Gardarsson and Selma Bj rnsd ttir from Iceland's innovative theater company Vesturport and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (The Wallis). Robin Hood and his unmerry gang of cutthroats steal from the rich, but it never occurs to them to give back.

The Lyric Hammersmith and Filter's critically acclaimed production of A Midsummer Night's Dream will be touring the UK, opening at the Lyric for two performances only on 13 & 14 April 2018, then Hull Truck Theatre, Theatr Clwyd, Nuffield Southampton Theatres, Exeter Northcott Theatre, Oxford Playhouse, Cast in Doncaster and Cambridge Arts Theatre.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre presents Watch on the Rhine, Lillian Hellman's 1940s political thriller about loyalty, family, and sacrifice. The play, directed by Berkeley Rep's associate director Lisa Peterson, begins previews on Thursday, November 30, 2017 and runs through Sunday, January 14, 2018. Roundabout Theatre Company presents the new Broadway production of J. B. Priestley's Time and the Conways, directed by Tony winner Rebecca Taichman (Indecent). The play returns to Broadway for the first time since its premiere in 1938 and opens officially tonight, October 10, 2017. This is a limited engagement through November 26, 2017 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street). Four-time Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Marsha Mason, known for her performances in the films Cinderella Liberty, The Goodbye Girl, Chapter Two and Only When I Laugh, stars as Fanny Farrelly under esteemed director Jackie Maxwell, former artistic director of Canada's Shaw Festival. Set in Washington, D.C. on the brink of U.S. involvement in World War II, Hellman's suspenseful drama was hailed by the Chicago Tribune as "dramatically gripping and genuinely moving." Watch on the Rhine runs February 3-March 5, 2017 in the Fichandler Stage.

The USC Libraries have named the finalists for the 29th-annual USC Libraries Scripter Award. Since 1988, Scripter has honored the authors of printed works alongside the screenwriters who adapt their stories. Last year, the USC Libraries inaugurated a new Scripter award, for television adaptation. Television and film finalists compete in separate categories.
