The Lilly Awards Foundation has announced the line-up of Broadway favorites who will perform at its fourth annual BROADWAY CABARET: BROADWAY STARS PERFORMING THE WORK OF WOMEN SONGWRITERS.

Save the date! The Drama League has announced that the 83rd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway).

The Drama League has announced the roster of special guest performers for the 33rd Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway honoring Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce to be held on Monday evening, November 7, 2016 at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue) in New York City.

MY LAST DAYS,an uplifting documentary series about courageous people facing one of life's most difficult challenges, a terminal illness, will premiere as a three-night special event, Wednesday, August 17, Thursday, August 18, and Friday, August 19 (9:00-10:00 pm ET/PT), on The CW.

In celebration of the centennial of the birth of trailblazing author, Brooklynite & pioneer in American children's literature, EZRA JACK KEATS (1916-1983), the Drama Desk Award-Winning TADA! Youth Theater will present ADVENTURES FROM EZRA JACK KEATS: SKATES and MAGGIE & THE PIRATE, original Off-Broadway musicals, performed by the talented kids from TADA!'s Resident Youth Ensemble, for kids of all ages. With book & lyrics by WINNIE HOLZMAN & music by DAVID EVANS, SKATES and MAGGIE & THE PIRATE opens on July 9th & runs through August 4th at TADA!  15 West 28th Street.  

BroadwayWorld is happy to report that four theater artists will be honored by the Henry Hewes Design Awards Committee during the presentation of its 2015 Awards in a luncheon ceremony, set for the coming fall.

ArtsBridge Foundation, the arts education outreach arm of the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, today announced the nominees for the 8th Annual Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards in a live streaming broadcast on GPB.org. Tony Award-winner and Marietta-native Shuler Hensley joined GPB Sports Anchor Jackie Brittan to announce the nominations. 28 public and private schools from throughout the state were nominated in 17 categories. The awards, which showcase the next generation of Georgia's musical theatre talent, will be presented at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on April 21. GPB will air the show live on its nine-station statewide television network.

Young Jean Lee's STRAIGHT WHITE MEN will have its West Coast premiere November 20 - December 20, 2015, at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre, directed by Lee and presented in collaboration with the Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA. The first U.S. performances of the play since The Public Theater presented its New York premiere last fall will feature a cast of Frank Boyd, Richard Riehle, Brian Slaten and Gary Wilmes.

William Golding's epic novel Lord of the Flies may have been published over sixty years ago but its themes and content are still supremely relevant today. This was reflected last night at Birmingham Rep with a virtually full house, consisting of many school parties. The book still remains on the school curriculum and based on this Regent's Park Open Air Production, it has been slightly adapted to a modern young audience - with references to selfies, 3G and even Ant & Dec! - without losing its powerful and timeless thread.
