Dance Salad Festival Returns This Weekend

Now celebrating the 24th anniversary in Houston and the 27th season since its inception in Brussels, Belgium, Dance Salad Festival promises another gathering of world-class performers. Famous in their own countries, classical and contemporary dancers share the Dance Salad Festival stage to form a mix of movement and compelling choreography.

San Francisco Ballet Announces 2020 Repertory Season

Artistic Director Helgi Tomasson and San Francisco Ballet today announced programming for the 2020 Repertory Season. Building on a heritage of commissioning groundbreaking dance from today's top choreographers, uncovering new choreographic talent, staging modern classics, and preserving the works that make up the canon of classic ballet, the 2020 Season places SF Ballet at the forefront of innovation and preeminence. Highlights include two new SF Ballet commissions by Cathy Marston and Trey McIntyre, and a co-commission with American Ballet Theatre of a work by Alexei Ratmansky; as well as works by George Balanchine, David Dawson, Harald Lander, Edwaard Liang, Benjamin Millepied, Mark Morris, Liam Scarlett, Helgi Tomasson, and Stanton Welch. The Season's three story ballets include Balanchine's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Wheeldon's Cinderella, and Tomasson's Romeo & Juliet.

Japan Society Presents Karole Armitage's YOU TOOK A PART OF ME

Japan Society presents You Took a Part of Me, a dance production with choreography by "punk ballerina" Karole Armitage, performed by her company Armitage Gone! Dance.  You Took a Part of Me arrives at Japan Society (333 East 47th Street) for two performances only: Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13 at 7:30pm.

The Chorus of Dutch National Opera sings in the world premiere of Requiem, composed by Gavin Bryars for orchestra and a new ballet choreographed by David Dawson. Gavin Bryars composes a new Requiem for orchestra, the Chorus of Dutch National Opera and solo vocalists. De world premiere of the composition is played by the Dutch Ballet Orchestra, conducted by Matthew Rowe.

Kennedy Center Presents San Francisco Ballet's Unbound: A Festival of New Works

Six new works will have their East Coast premieres October 23-28, when the world-renowned San Francisco Ballet returns to the Kennedy Center with selections from its acclaimed Unbound: A Festival of New Works. Presented over two programs and seven performances, the engagement presents familiar and new choreographers to D.C. audiences whose critically acclaimed new work displays the company's remarkable depth of artistry. The Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra will accompany the performances. 

San Francisco Ballet Welcome Ming Luke As Guest Conductor For Kennedy Center Performance.

Ming Luke will act as guest conductor for San Francisco Ballet (SFB), "one of the world's top ballet companies" (London Sunday Times), at Kennedy Center on October 28th, 1:30pm. Luke will lead the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra in live accompaniment for pieces choreographed by some of the world's most renowned dance-makers.

Central School Of Ballet Announces New Appointments: Scottish Ballet's Christopher Hampson Joins The Board And Christopher Hinton-Lewis Joins As Ballet Tutor

Central School of Ballet has announced that Christopher Hampson, Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Scottish Ballet, will join Central's Board of Governors from the start of the new academic year in September 2018. At the same time Christopher Hinton-Lewis, currently Guest Ballet Master for Northern Ballet will join Central's artistic staff as First Year Male Tutor.

Semperoper Ballett Erhält Europäischen Kulturpreis TAURUS

Am Samstag, den 2. Juni 2018 wird das Semperoper Ballett mit dem Europaischen Kulturpreis TAURUS geehrt. Die Verleihung findet im Rahmen der Premiere des Ballettabends »100°C« in der Semperoper Dresden statt, sechs Tage vor der offiziellen Veranstaltung in der Frauenkirche Dresden. Die Sachsische Staatsministerin fur Wissenschaft und Kunst, Dr. Eva-Maria Stange, wird die Laudatio halten.
