The Kennedy Center presents The Illusionists - Witness the Impossible in the Kennedy Center Opera House from January 6-11, 2015. Direct from Broadway, the production comes to the Kennedy Center as part of a 30-city U.S. tour. Produced by Simon Painter, Tim Lawson, and MagicSpace Entertainment, the production is conceived by Simon Painter. The show's creative team also includes executive producer Tim Lawson, director Neil Dorward, and creative director Jim Millan. The press opening night is Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.

Westport Country Playhouse's annual fundraising event at Mitchells of Westport will celebrate Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist, for her many contributions to the arts in the community, on Thursday, December 4, 6 to 8 p.m. The evening will include food, wine, and music, as well as shopping at Mitchells, featuring men's and women's luxury apparel. Ten percent of purchases at the event will be donated to the Playhouse in the buyer's name.

On Thursday, November 6th it was announced that Cafe Edison in Times Square is being denied a new lease by The Hotel Edison management. The diner -- which has served as a hub for the Broadway community for more than 30 years -- is expected to close at the end of the year. San Francisco Opera General Director David Gockley announced today the appointment of Daniel Knapp as director of production, effective February 11, 2015. Knapp currently serves as artistic production director and head of company management of the world-acclaimed Bregenz Festival in Austria. He succeeds Greg Weber, who has joined the staff of Tulsa Opera as managing director.
