The 2019-20 season of the Oratorio Society of New York, the city's standard for grand choral performance led by its acclaimed music director, Kent Tritle, is highlighted by two premieres that reflect its 146-year history: the U.S. premiere of a new critical edition of a Brahms masterwork that the Society performed in 1877; and the world premiere of A Nation of Others, an OSNY-commissioned oratorio for soloists, chorus, and orchestra by composer Paul Moravec and librettist Mark Campbell on the subject of immigrants' arrival at Ellis Island.

Narrowing the lens, he conducts Musica Sacra in an a cappella program of works interleaving the Renaissance William Byrd's Mass for Five Voices with new works, including the world premiere of Migration by Michael Gilbertson for choir and cello; and he leads the Cathedral Choir and Orchestra of St. John the Divine in a program of music by Poulenc and the Faure Requiem.

Neil Young releases a true gem from his archives, Hitchhiker today. As previously announced, Hitchhiker is a previously unreleased 10-track acoustic solo album recorded in Malibu, CA at Indigo Studio in 1976.
