Unicorn Theatre Will Stream Julian Clary's THE BOLDS For Free Over Christmas

The Unicorn Theatre today announced the film release of Julian Clary's critically acclaimed stage adaptation of The Bolds directed by Lee Lyford. The production, which is currently playing at the venue until Friday 31 December will be available to watch for free to schools from Monday 13 to Friday 17 December and then to the public from the Unicorn website from Monday 20 to Friday 24 December.

Adapting a novel for the stage is fraught with difficulties; even more so when the novel is a literary sensation that has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. Afghan-American Khaled Hosseini's devastating 2003 first novel, The Kite Runner, has added difficulties as a play, as it spans 30 years and crosses continents in the process. This quietly devastating play debuted in 2013 in the UK at the Nottingham Playhouse and now returns for a country-wide tour.

New Perspectives Announce THE MAN WITHOUT A PAST And TRADE

Following a bumper year of five shows which saw East Midlands theatre company New Perspectives premiere their Stage Award winning show The Fishermen, a new production based on John Berger's masterpiece A Fortunate Man, and a first-time collaboration with Midland's rural touring company Pentabus on Crossings, New Perspectives have announced two rural touring productions for 2019. The Man Without A Past, a new adaptation of Finnish film, and a new production of debbie tucker green's trade join their 2019 programme, which has already seen the first of this year's international appearances with A Fortunate Man presented at the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival in January, one of only two British companies to take part in the festival.
