MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, the hit musical now playing at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street), announced today that Eric Stang will assume the role of Jerry Lee Lewis starting Monday, October 17.
Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that the new musical Once, inspired by Dublin street performers and a stage adaptation of the eponymous film, may make it's Broadway debut in February of 2012. The musical recently received a workshop at the American Repertory Theatre in Boston and will be given a full production at the New York Theatre Workshop in December.
New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that casting is complete for the world premiere of the new musical Once, which is based on the Academy Award-winning film. Once begins previews Tuesday, November 15 and opens Tuesday, December 6 at New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue.

'Imus in the Morning' can be seen on Fox Business News (Time Warner Cable Channel 43). The nationally syndicated radio simulcast can be heard locally on 770 AM WABC. MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET played nearly 500 performances on Broadway and won a Tony Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award, and received Tony nominations for Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical, a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Musical Revue and three Drama League nominations including Distinguished Production of a Musical and two Distinguished Performance nominations. BroadwayWorld has confirmed with a production source that Million Dollar Quartet star and Tony winner Levi Kreis will depart the production earlier than scheduled due to an injury he sustained on March 3. Kreis wrote on his Twitter page earlier this week: 'If u r planning 2 c my MDQ perf. b4 the 13th, u should know I THINK I tore my ACL surgery out, & could be done. I get MRI results Monday.'
