Ateneo Blue Repertory (blueREP), the premier musical theater organization at Ateneo de Manila University, closes its 27th season with the Tony Award-winning musical 'Spring Awakening,' based on the play of the same name by Frank Wedekind, with book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik. The show runs until Sunday, April 14, 2019, at the Hyundai Hall Stage, Arete, Ateneo de Manila University (Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City).

Tony Award-winning musical 'Spring Awakening,' based on the 1891 play by Frank Wedekind, which features the music by Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater, returns to the Ateneo Blue Repertory (blueREP) stage now through Sunday, April 14, 2019. Directed by Missy Maramara and Darrell Uy, the production plays at the Hyundai Hall, Arete, Ateneo de Manila University.

If young audiences enjoyed 'Grease,' Disney's 'High School Musical,' Disney's 'Camp Rock,' and FOX TV's 'Glee,' Blue Repertory's TOILET, would most likely to succeed, too, given further tweaking. If improved, TOILET could attract more young audiences to come to the theater since the musical aims to address the everyday struggles of young adults.

9 Works Theatrical's ("You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," "Sweet Charity") production of Marvin Hamlisch and Carol Bayer Sager's classic Broadway musical "They're Playing Our Song" (TPOS), directed by Robbie Guevara, opens this weekend at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza in Makati City; Blue Repertory's ("Bare," "Little Shop of Horrors") production of Duncan Sheik's dark rock musical "Spring Awakening" (SA), directed by Andrei Nikolai Pamintuan, will follow suit when SA opens at Rizal Mini Theatre, Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City on Valentine's Day, February 14.
