Just yesterday, Irish Repertory Theatre presented SONDHEIM AT SEVEN, this season's Gala Benefit production, at The Town Hall. Featuring an introduction by Special Guest Angela Lansbury, SONDHEIM AT SEVEN honored Carmine D. Boccuzzi, Jr., Partner at Cleary Gottlieb LLP, and recognized the extraordinary contributions of Anne Anderson, Ambassador of Ireland to the United States; Barbara Jones, Consul General of Ireland in New York; and David Donoghue, Ambassador of Ireland to the United Nations.
Irish Repertory Theatre has announced more performers for SONDHEIM AT SEVEN, this season's Gala Benefit production, on Tuesday, June 13th at 7 PM at The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street, NYC).
Featuring a full orchestra and chorus under the direction of John Bell, performers for the evening include Nancy Anderson, Melissa Errico, Mark Evans, Danielle Ferland, Malcolm Gets, Jeremy Jordan, Rebecca Luker Howard McGillin, Ryan Silverman and Max Von Essen, plus more to be announced and special surprise guests!
Long Wharf Theatre, under the director of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Joshua Borenstein, presents the world premiere of The Most Beautiful Room in New York, a new musical with book and lyrics by Adam Gopnik and music by David Shire, directed by Edelstein. The production will take place beginning tonight, May 3, and running through May 28, 2017 on the Claire Tow Stage in the C. Newton Schenck III Theatre. The New 42nd Street just hosted its annual Gala, celebrating 25 years, last night, April 11 at The New Victory Theater. The evening honored Douglas Durst, Bruce C. Ratner, Daniel R. Tishman, and Mortimer B. Zuckerman with the Marian Heiskell Award and President of The New 42nd Street, Cora Cahan, with the New Victory Arts Award. Drama Desk Award winner and Drama League nominee Lisa Howard, who is currently earning rave reviews starring as Jenny Steinberg in Broadway's 'It Shoulda Been You', is the final special guest performer to join Tim Realbuto in his autobiographical piece 'Wunderkind' at The New York Musical Theatre Festival. Ms. Howard is also well known for her portrayal of Rona Lisa Peretti in the original Broadway cast of 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee'. Her numerous other Broadway credits include Lincoln Center's 'South Pacific'; '9 to 5'; and 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert'. On television, she appeared on ABC's 'Ugly Betty', but is perhaps most known to film audiences as Siobahn in 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.' Next up, she will star as Sylvia in director Joseph Wartnerchaney 's thriller 'Decay' for Ghost Orchid Films.
