The world premiere of a stage version of Jill Murphy's The Worst Witch is the non-panto festive show at Northampton's Royal and Derngate this Christmas, ahead of a national tour in 2019.

The all-female cast has been confirmed for the world premiere production of The Worst Witch which opens at Royal & Derngate this Christmas as part of the theatre's Made in Northampton season. An original story for the stage by Emma Reeves (Royal Television Society Award for Best Children's TV Programme and 2017 British Screenwriters Award for Best Children's Programme) based upon Jill Murphy's beloved series of classic novels The Worst Witch, the production will be directed by Theresa Heskins (2017 UK Theatre Award for Best Show for Children and Young People) and designed by Simon Daw, with music by Luke Potter.

 Gary Sinyor's first play in which he also directs opens tonight (15 March) at the Arts Theatre.  Designs are by Carla Goodman with lighting by Humphrey McDermott, sound by Luke Swaffield and music by Erran Baron Cohen. NOTMOSES is booking to 14 May 2016.

As rehearsal begin, Monday 15 February 2016, for NotMoses, Gary Sinyor's first play which he also directs, the final casting and full creative team are announced.  NotMoses begins previews at the Arts Theatre on 10 March 2016 with press night on 15 March with booking to 14 May 2016.

C.S.Lewis' timeless story The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is a perfect fit for the festive season. It has had several stage reincarnations over the years and the fact that it has been revisited again at the Birmingham Rep is a testament to its appeal. The theatre last staged the show in 2009 as a co-production with West Yorkshire Playhouse whom presented the original production in both 2004 and 2007 to critical acclaim. This year it is solely produced by Birmingham Repertory Theatre Company and directed by Tessa Walker, who returns after directing A Christmas Carol at the theatre in 2013.

Birmingham Repertory Theatre is off to Narnia this Christmas with a magical adaptation of C. S. Lewis's much-loved novel, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe from 20 November to 16 January.
