Tonight, the Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. revealed nominations for the 2014-2015 Atlanta professional theatrical season to theatre patrons and industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by Horizon Theatre. Guest announcers included the ladies of The Weird Sisters Theatre Project: Kelly Criss, Veronika Duerr, Jaclyn Hofmann, Tiffany Porter, and Megan Rose. Among the notable nominees are Broadway-bound TUCK EVERLASTING and stage vet Will Swenson, who starred in BULL DURHAM at the Alliance. Scroll down for the full list of nominees!

The hilariously festive show The 12 Dates of Christmas takes Aurora Theatre audiences on an adventure into the mishaps of one woman's journey back into the dating scene, tonight November 29 - December 20.

The annual holiday classic, Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, is returning to Aurora Theatre for its eighth consecutive year, November 28-December 21. In true storytelling fashion, audiences travel back to 19th century England for an incredibly personal and moving one-man version of the cherished story that grasps the true meaning of the holiday season - the joy of giving. Starring Aurora veteran Anthony P. Rodriguez as the cold and bitter Ebenezer Scrooge with direction by Tony Brown, audiences are invited to rediscover Dickens' oft-told tale that has touched hearts for more than 150 years.

Aurora Theatre continues the 2013-2014 Harvel Lab Series with a Teatro del Sol production, Mariela in the Desert by Karen Zacarias. It is 1950 and artists Mariela and Jose are living an isolated existence in the desert of Northern Mexico, haunted by the ghost of their young son. Jose is very ill and Mariela sends a telegram to their daughter encouraging her to come home. Where once the walls were beautifully decorated, now only one painting remains, and it is shrouded in mystery. This play will be performed in Spanish with English supertitles. This production features an amazing cast including the stunning Blanca Aguero in the title role of Mariela and Aurora Theatre Producing Artistic Director Anthony P. The Brand Signature Series at Aurora Theatre continues with The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown by New York's best young composers, Kait Kerrigan and Brain Lowdermilk. The show runs March 13 through April 6, 2014. Samantha Brown is a girl who has what every teenager wants: brains, a boyfriend, functional parents and an acceptance letter to the college of her choice. Yet she sits in her car with her bags packed and can't turn the key in the ignition. At the crossroads to adulthood, will Samantha come to terms with her parents' expectations, her first love, and a lost friendship and start the car, drive away and find freedom?

There is something special happening on stage at the Aurora Theatre. The Aurora Theatre production is the most flawless version of 'Les Miserables' that I have ever seen, and I've seen my share. I filled pages upon pages with notes about the exciting and insightful choices made by the always genius director Justin Anderson and his near-perfect cast.
