Rising Phoenix Repertory to Host CINO NIGHTS Book Reading, 6/28

Rising Phoenix Rep (Daniel Talbott, Artistic Director) will host an event to launch the newly published CINO NIGHTS: Plays from Rising Phoenix Rep, edited by Daniel Talbott and Addie Johnson and with a foreword by Todd London, on Thursday, June 28th at 6:00 p.m. at The Drama Book Shop

The Amoralists are currently presenting the World Premiere of The Bad and the Better, written by Derek Ahonen, directed by Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin and featuring The Amoralists acting ensemble. The acclaimed downtown theater company moved uptown for this six-week Off-Broadway run that began on June 14, and continues through July 21 at The Peter Jay Sharp Theater, located at 416 West 42 Street between 9 and 10 Avenues in New York City. Seth Numrich, Kathryn Erbe, et al. Set for SPARKHAMPTON, 6/25

HardSparks, a New York City-based theater company, will present first in a series of site-specific performances of new plays to take place in Southampton. SparkHampton: The Wickapogue Plays will feature work by Crystal Skillman (Cut, Wild), J.Stephen Brantley (Eightythree Down, Blood Grass), and Daniel Talbott (Slipping, Yosemite), who will also direct the three pieces.

The Ringwald Theatre is proud to announce the 3rd installment of its wildly popular Gay Play Series (GPS). Last year's outing was attended by hundreds of people over a ten day festival period. This year the program will run over two consecutive weekends that will feature a one-time only event, music shows and, at the centerpiece, performances of 11 new, one act LGBT plays.

The directors concluded their class this past week by fully producing Chekhov on the Hudson - six short Chekhov adaptations near the Hudson River. The Ringwald Theatre today announced the 3rd installment of its Gay Play Series (GPS). Last year's outing was attended by hundreds of people over a ten day festival period.

Rogers Park Presents Three Premiere Plays, 5/13, 16 & 22

After a successful fall repertory series focusing on the modern effects of war, the side project theatre company in Rogers Park will present a look at the historical impact of war, specifically on youth, with one U.S., one world, and one Chicago premiere. Enola, by Al Smith; Joan's Laughter, by Jacob Juntunen; and a new adaptation of Aleksei Arbuzov's The Promise, by Nick Dear open today, May 13th and May 16th and 22nd, respectively. The rep will run through June 17 at The Side Project, 1439 W. Jarvis Ave in Rogers Park.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre et al. Present 3C 6/21

Piece by Piece productions, Rising Phoenix Repertory, and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater have announced that the world premiere of 3C, written by David Adjmi and directed by Jackson Gay, will begin performances Wednesday, June 6 at 7pm at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place. The opening night is set for Thursday, June 21 at 7pm.

Jose Rivera Joins Cast of MASSACRE (SING TO YOUR CHILDREN) at Rattlestick Tonight

Jose Rivera, the Obie Award-winning playwright and Academy Award nominee (The Motorcycle Diaries) will move from the page to the stage when he joins the cast of his play Massacre (Sing to Your Children), having its world premiere at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry & West 11th Streets), it was announced today.
