On Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 7:00 PM, the University of West Georgia Theatre Company and the School of the Arts are excited to bring back to Carrollton Daniel Banks, Co-Founder and Co-Director of DNAWORKS, as the Michael and Andrea Stone Visiting Artist. Dr. Banks will direct a staged reading of Dreaming Emmett, a play written by Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Nobel Laureate, the late Toni Morrison. This event will take place in the Townsend Center Dangle Theatre on the campus of the University of West Georgia.

Playwrights Foundation announces the plays and playwrights of the 2018 Bay Area Playwrights Festival (BAPF) running July 20-29, 2018 at Potrero Stage, 1895 18th St in San Francisco. The Artistic Teams for #BAPF2018 features Directors Erik Pearson, Christine Young, Margo Hall, Daniel Banks, Lauren English, and Ken Savage. Dramaturgs joining the teams include Alex Mallory, Maddie Gaw, Lisa Evans, Vidhu Singh, Roweena Mackay, and the Legendary Nakissa Etemad.

Part of an international reading scheme which aims to honor veterans of wars recent and past and to promote spiritual healing, SPARK will be performed across the United States and abroad throughout the month of November; thirty-nine readings of the play are currently confirmed.
