Yesterday, September 14, Tony Award winner Richard Easton, Tony nominee Andre De Shields, Tony nominee Dana Ivey, Tony nominee Laurence Luckinbill, Marni Nixon and more joined special guests New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Katherine Oliver, Commissioner for the NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, for the second-annual Broadway Salutes, a unique public celebration honoring the myriad of professionals who have made Broadway great for decades - with special recognition for those individuals who have worked 25, 35 and 50 years in their respective theatrical craft. In celebration of Westport Country Playhouse 80th season, an audience of over 500 attended the historic theater's annual fundraising gala, 'The Magical Music of Stephen Schwartz,' honoring the musical theater composer, on Monday evening, September 13. Gala proceeds will support artistic and education programs of the Playhouse - with a special focus this year on the Woodward Internship program.
Dana Ivey and Robert Bogue will be in Provincetown, MA on September 26 for a staged reading of 'Suddenly Last Summer', a play written by Tennesse Williams. Ivey will play Mrs. Venable, and Bogue will play Dr. Cukrowicz - both roles made famous in the Katharine Hepburn and Montgomery Clift film.
Westport Country Playhouse's Young Professionals Network and Norwalk's Triangle Community Center will present the first-ever 'LGBT Night Out at the Playhouse,' for members of the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender communities and allies, on Thursday, August 12.

Participants are requested to write, in 300 words or less, how they were asked, or asked someone else, to say, 'I Do!' Photos are welcomed, but not required. Yesterday, June 27, Lincoln Center Theater opened A. R. Gurney's new play, THE GRAND MANNER, directed by Mark Lamos, at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 W. 65 Street). Kate Burton, Boyd Gaines, Bobby Steggert and Brenda Wehle comprise the four character cast of this world premiere production. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the opening night celebration.
