Impro Theatre's mission is to create a play from scratch in a particular style, right before the eyes of its audience. Their improvised plays include: The Twilight Zone, and the works of Shakespeare, Chekhov, Dickens, Tennessee Williams, even Sondheim - all unscripted. This time around it's The Western Unscripted, now onstage at the Falcon Theatre in Burbank through October 5.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) will host a night of improvised musical theatre when Impro Theatre takes over the Thomas Theatre for OSF Presents: Sondheim UnScripted on July 28 at 8 p.m.

Falcon Theatre will present Impro Theatre's The Western UnScripted, co-directed by Dan O'Connor and Stephen Kearin, the first production of the Falcon Theatre's 2014-2015 Subscription Season. Impro Theatre's critically acclaimed, award-winning ensemble of improvisers, which the LA Times calls "an amazing comedy troupe that spins comedy gold right before your eyes," create completely new, completely unscripted, and completely hilarious full-length plays at every performance. According to StageandCinema.com, an Impro performance is "as high a degree of general excellence in writing, acting, and direction as I have seen in any theater company in America."

Falcon Theatre Founder, Garry Marshall, is thrilled to announce the Falcon Theatre's 2014-2015 5-Play Subscription Season. Falcon Theatre's 13th subscription season brings five compelling productions to Burbank, including two premiere shows, a performance by George Carlin's daughter Kelly Carlin, and collaborations with the award-winning companies Impro Theatre and Troubadour Theater Company. For the 2014-2015 season, the Falcon has also partnered with the Daily Grill restaurants to give subscribers an added benefit of a discounted local dining experience.

Impro Theatre has announced their newest production, Shakespeare UnScripted, directed by Brian Lohmann and Dan O'Connor. Shakespeare UnScripted begins preview performances on Thursday, March 20 at the Carrie Hamilton Theatre (upstairs at The Pasadena Playhouse) in Pasadena. Opening is set for Sunday, March 30, at 5pm. The Music Center inaugurates FLASHFEST with an event free to the public at Grand Park on Sunday, November 4 from 1 pm to 5 pm. FLASHFEST is a new pop-up arts happening that explores all art forms in myriad ways with appeal to all ages and interests. Each event will turn on a particular theme, which will be up for a short time and then disappear until the next FLASHFEST. The first event at Grand Park, "High Roads + Railroads," features roots music from Irish and African American traditions.
