Falcon Theatre will present Impro Theatre's The Western UnScripted, co-directed by Dan O'Connor and Stephen Kearin, the first production of the Falcon Theatre's 2014-2015 Subscription Season. Impro Theatre's critically acclaimed, award-winning ensemble of improvisers, which the LA Times calls "an amazing comedy troupe that spins comedy gold right before your eyes," create completely new, completely unscripted, and completely hilarious full-length plays at every performance. According to StageandCinema.com, an Impro performance is "as high a degree of general excellence in writing, acting, and direction as I have seen in any theater company in America."

Using only their wits and audience suggestions, Impro Theatre saddles up and rides headlong into the dangerous high chaparral of places like Tombstone and Deadwood to create a new-fangled full-length play in the style of the great film westerns of John Ford and Howard Hawks. Complete with cattle barons, desperadoes, saloon girls, frontier women and slick, no-account sidewinders, Impro Theatre manifests destiny every show!

Impro Theatre creates completely improvised, full-length plays in the styles of the world's greatest writers. With no pre-planning or prepared scenarios, the performers start with a single audience suggestion and then write theatre as they perform it, combining verbal dexterity and dynamic physicality to bring character and plot to life in an instant. Impro Theatre's performances are unique; there are no repeated characters and no set story structure and each play is written in real time -- while simultaneously being performed -- by the actors. Impro has performed locally at South Coast Repertory, The Broad Stage in Santa Monica, North Coast Repertory in San Diego, the Falcon Theatre in Burbank, and The Pasadena Playhouse, as well as venues around the world, including the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, The Athenaeum Theatre in Chicago, The Melbourne Fringe in Australia and Theatre Adyar in Paris.

Dan O'Connor (Co-Director / Ensemble / Artistic Director) is co-founder and Artistic Director of Impro Theatre. He has directed Chekhov UnScripted (Odyssey Theatre), co-directed Jane Austen UnScripted (Broad Stage), Sondheim UnScripted (OSF Green Show), Shakespeare UnScripted (Odyssey) and The Western UnScripted (Laguna Playhouse). He performed in the Improbable Theatre's Lifegame Off-Broadway. He co-created and starred in the NBC/PAX television improv comedy show World Cup Comedy. Television/Film credits include VEGAS, Raising Hope, Campus Ladies, Malcolm in the Middle, Starstruck and Seinfeld. Stage credits include the American Conservatory Theatre and A Noise Within. Television directing credits include the critically acclaimed ABC hybrid sit-com Sons and Daughters and Campus Ladies for Oxygen. Dan has taught and directed improvisational theatre to universities and companies around world including UCSB, DUKE, UT Austin, DreamWorks Animation and Cirque Du Soleil. He is a graduate of the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. www.danoconnor.net

Stephen Kearin (Co-Director / Ensemble) began his career with Bay Area Theatresports in San Francisco, where he was a company member for 14 years. He was a founding member of both Improv Theatre and True Fiction Magazine and is currently a founding member of 3ForAll. Last year he served as co-director of Impro Theatre's Twilight Zone UnScripted at the Falcon Theatre. Stephen is the co-creator of Simlish and was the principal male voice of The Sims, Sims 2.0 and Sims Medieval. He is featured in the DreamWorks Animation films Kung Fu Panda, Kung Fu Panda 2, Madagascar 2 and 3, Monsters Vs. Aliens, Megamind and The Penguins Of Madagascar. He will appear as the recurring character of 'Principal Mitchell' this fall on the new show Kirby Buckets. Stephen has served as an instructor at Stanford University, DreamWorks Animation and Cirque Du Soleil.
