Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) today confirmed that it had completed the purchase of Live Nation's UK Theatres (excluding their one third share of The Dominion Theatre). The acquisition is the most significant development in ATG's 17 year history.

Damian Lewis leads an outstanding ensemble featuring Tara Fitzgerald, Keira Knightley, Dominic Rowan and Tim McMullan in Martin Crimp's blistering version of Molière's greatest comedy, The Misanthrope. Directed by Thea Sharrock, the play will open at the Comedy Theatre on 17 December 2009 with previews from 7 December 2009.

In her West End debut, Keira Knightley is turning out to be quite the good luck charm for The Misanthrope. According to a report in London's Daily Mail, the production has taken in a whopping £1million in just four days. According to the report, this kind of number for a straight play is something the West End has never seen before.

Bill Kenwright and Marla Rubin announce that they will present the Almeida Theatre production of FESTEN, the hugely successful London play about a family with a dark secret, on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre (239 W. 45th St.), with performances beginning Thursday, March 23. Larry Bryggman, Michael Hayden, Ali MacGraw and Julianna Margulies have been cast in the Broadway production. Directed by Rufus Norris, in a dramatization by David Eldridge from the Danish 1998 film, FESTEN will have its official press opening on Sunday, April 9.
