Nominated for three Olivier Awards - Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Keira Knightley; Best Costume Design, Amy Roberts; and Best Revival - the critically acclaimed production of THE MISANTHROPE will complete its scheduled run on March 13, 2010. Martin Crimp's blistering version of Moliere's greatest comedy has proved to be the most successful limited run ever at The Comedy Theatre, playing to 100% capacity.

Damian Lewis leads an outstanding ensemble with Tara FitzGerald, Keira Knightley, Dominic Rowan, Tim McMullan, Chuk Iwuji, Kelly Price and Nicholas Le Prevost and Thea Sharrock's direction has been described as an "excellent, platinum cast revival" (The Independent, 18 Dec 2009).

Transported from 17th century Paris to modern-day London, Alceste (Damian Lewis) is a famous British playwright disillusioned and angry with the hypocrisy, shallowness and vanity of the contemporary world. Vowing to reject society, Alceste's plans are derailed when he falls madly in love with Jennifer (Keira Knightley). An ambitious American film star and darling of the social scene, she may prove to be his biggest challenge yet.

For your last chance to see The Misanthrope before the end of its run on 13 March, check the box office for day's seats, returns and standing availability, or the website for hot ticketing tips.
The Misanthrope is directed by Thea Sharrock, designed by Hildegard Bechtler with lighting by Peter Mumford and is produced by Howard Panter and Tali Pelman for the Ambassador Theatre Group, Sweet Pea Productions and Tulchin/Bartner Productions.
