THE TEMPEST Opens at Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival Tonight, 6/22

Shakespeare's last play, The Tempest, is the first of three Shakespeare plays to open during the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's 21st season. The Tempest opens tonight, June 22 in the Schubert Theatre at the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts on the Center Valley campus of DeSales University.

Marilyn Maye, Ben Davis Join THE BROADWAY MUSICALS OF 1946 2/13

The Town Hall (123 West 43 Street) has signed Award-winning Jazz singer Marilyn Maye, Tony Award winner, Ben Davis (Baz Luhrmann's La Boheme), Dameka Hayes, Audelco Award Nominee for It Ain't Nothing But The Blues and Jessie Mueller, who made her Broadway debut in On a Clear Day…, to perform in THE BROADWAY MUSICALS OF 1946 on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 8pm.

Charles Strouse, Leslie Lee's MARTIN to Open Off-Broadway Tomorrow

MARTIN, a new musical by legendary composer/lyricist Charles Strouse and bookwriter Leslie Lee, will be presented Off-Broadway by the Negro Ensemble Company, with performances beginning this Wednesday, October 19th. The limited engagement is set to run through October 30th at the Kraine Theater, 85 East 4th Street (between Second & Third Ave.) Under the direction of Jeffrey B. Moss and choreographed by Barbara Siman, the cast of MARTIN features Gilbert Glenn Brown, Dameka Hayes, Heather Massie, Kyle Minshew, Tony Perry, Raena White, and Curtis Wiley. The Musical Director is Skip Brevis.

'The Color Purple' LA Tour Tickets On-Sale 9/23, Opens 12/13

The Color Purple, The Musical about Love, announces that tickets will go on sale Sunday, September 23 at 11AM for the Los Angeles engagement of the first North American touring production at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre at the Los Angeles Music Center for 12 weeks only, December 13, 2007, through March 9, 2008.
