The Phantom of the Opera won't just be in your mind June 15 through July 7 as the world tour plays at Istana Budaya.

Experience the unforgettable at the Central City Opera 2019 Festival July 6 through August 6. This year, main stage productions include "Madama Butterfly" by Giacomo Puccini (opening July 6) and the Colorado premiere of "Billy Budd" by Benjamin Britten (opening July 13). Both world-class performances will be brought to life in the historic 550-seat jewel box opera house in Central City. 

"Let your mind start a journey through a strange new world, leave all thoughts of the life you knew before". That was the very journey we took, captivated for the next two and a half hours, in the mysterious and heart-wrenching love story.

Everyone knows the musical all too well. At least for those who were already breathing theater when The Phantom of the Opera opened in London's West End in 1986, and on Broadway in 1988.

Excerpts from some of the much awaited musical numbers from the new world tour production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'The Phantom of the Opera,' which kicked off last Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at The Theatre at Solaire in Paranaque City, have been unveiled to local newsgroups.

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, the world's most popular musical, today announced the remaining cast members for the long-awaited Asian tour. Bring a valentine to enjoy the production of Lerner and Loewe's "My Fair Lady" with the Utah Symphony playing the exquisite musical score in Abravanel Hall on February 15 & 16 7:30 PM. This classic Broadway hit will be performed by Broadway singers in period costumes and the Utah Symphony will play under the direction of Utah Symphony Associate Conductor Conner Gray Covington. When the new world tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's behemoth, 'The Phantom of the Opera,' kicks off in Manila, Philippines this February 20, 2019, the production will transport you back to the original London production (still playing!), which opened at Her Majesty's Theatre on October 9, 1986.

Opera Ithaca presents their 3rd Annual New Year's Eve Gala featuring Gilbert and Sullivan's, The Pirates of Penzance, in a gala production at the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca on December 31st with a special additional concert performance at the Smith Opera House in Geneva, New York on December 30th.

The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) today announced the participants of the third cycle of the BAM Professional Development Program (BAM PDP), led by BAM and the DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the University of Maryland. The companies for this session represent mixed disciplines ranging from dance to theater to opera. Chosen by a BAM-convened panel, the organizations taking part in this session are Encompass New Opera Theatre, Satellite Collective, Summation Dance, and Treehouse Shakers. As with the previous sessions, the DeVos Institute extended invitations to a group of organizations to apply for the training portion of the BAM PDP-expanding the program's reach beyond Brooklyn-based companies. These additional organizations taking part in the program areBalletNext, Beth Morrison Projects, S? Percussion, and Zvi Dance.

Carnegie Hall today announced the complete cast for its gala benefit performance of Guys and Dolls on Thursday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage. Tony Award winner Len Cariou (Sweeney Todd, Applause, A Little Night Music) joins the cast as Arvide Abernathy along with Tony Award nominee Lee Wilkof (Assassins, Little Shop of Horrors, Kiss Me Kate) as Harry the Horse. Members of the Mission Band joining Allison Blackwell (Agatha) are J.D. Webster (Calvin), Linda Mugleston (Martha), and Joseph Torello (Joseph).
