Capital Stage changes things up this holiday season with the Sacramento premiere of MISTAKES WERE MADE by Craig Wright. In place of the company's typical go-to holiday farce, EVERY CHRISTMAS STORY EVER TOLD!!, Capital Stage presents a different kind of farce for the season. Eric Wheeler who has starred in the annual Christmas production, returns to star in MISTAKES WERE MADE as B-list Off-Broadway producer Felix Artifex. This darkly comic tale opens tonight, November 17, 2012 and will continue through December 16, 2012.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that the American premiere of A Summer Day, a play written by Jon Fosse (International Ibsen Award in 2010), and directed and translated by Sarah Cameron Sunde, will extend through Saturday, December 8.

Through participation with the 'Partners for Sacred Places' program, the Luna has found its new home and partner: The Church of the Crucifixion at 620 S. 8th Street (8th and Bainbridge). Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that its productions of the world premiere of Through the Yellow Hour, written and directed by Adam Rapp, and the American premiere of A Summer Day, written by Jon Fosse, and directed and translated by Sarah Cameron Sunde, will resume tonight, Saturday, November 3, both at 8pm. Through the Yellow Hour plays at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place, and A Summer Day plays at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street.

“We should not do a show more often,” quipped Ryan Silverman as he an Jill Paice took in the appreciative applause of the Town Hall audience before even singing a note of the Broadway musical they were expected to star in this season, Rebecca. Host Scott Siegel had just recapped the story of the show's numerous delays, fake investors, missing funds and the fact that an estimated 150 theatre professions had either turned down work or stopped seeking immediate employment because of their expectation to be working on Broadway by Christmas.
