The Academy for Classical Acting (ACA) is excited to announce its 2019 Summer Repertory Season with three vivid new Shakespeare productions at George Washington University's Theatre XX. This summer is the first time that there will be three shows running in rep, and each of the sixteen MFA students will perform in two of the shows.

Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return for its 29th annual summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2018 acclaimed production of Shakespeare's Hamlet starring MICHAEL URIE (Ugly Betty) as Hamlet.

Nominations were announced today for the Sydney Theatre Awards for 2018, which will be presented at a gala ceremony on Monday 21 January 2019 at 6pm at the York Theatre, Seymour Centre.

When Shakespeare Theatre Company first announced their 2018/19 season, I was hesitant. The season didn't feel grand enough to serve as a proper goodbye to Michael Kahn, who has developed this company into an international institution. Having now seen their first production, The Comedy of Errors, and their spectacular fall gala, I think it is safe to say my hesitation was unfounded. STC is sending their founder off with quite a spectacular farewell.

The West Wing's Melissa Fitzgerald, Broadway actor Heath Saunders, Emery Battis Award-winner Victoria Frings and Ken Clark, currently playing King Arthur in Camelot at STC, recently joined Members of Congress and notable Washingtonians onto the stage at Sidney Harman Hall to perform in Will on the Hill. Now in its sixteenth year, the much-loved bipartisan event took place on June 11 and raised $500,000 for the theatre's education and community outreach programs.

Theater J, the nation's largest and most prominent Jewish theater, announced today the launch of the Yiddish Theater Lab dedicated to preserving and reviving the forgotten literature of the Yiddish Theater.
