Mrs. Michelle Obama, Caroline Kennedy and Blaine Trump served as Honorary Chairs of this special performance featuring all of ABT's Principal Dancers. Casting for the first two weeks of American Ballet Theatre's 2013 Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House was recently announced by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. The season will begin tonight, Monday, May 13 at 6:30 P.M. with the Company's Opening Night Gala, featuring a piece d'occasion choreographed by Marcelo Gomes, set to the second movement of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony and danced by Julie Kent and Roberto Bolle.

Irina Dvorovenko, a Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre since 2000, will give her final performance with the Company on May 18, 2013 at the Metropolitan Opera House in the role of Tatiana in Onegin. Dvorovenko will dance opposite Cory Stearns in the role of Eugene Onegin.

Irina Dvorovenko, Principal Dancer with the American Ballet Theater, is set to retire from the Ballet Theater as of May 18, 2013. Her last appearance will be as Tatiana in 'Onegin' at the Metropolitan Opera House. Dvorovenko has appeared in over 16 seasons with the Ballet Theater. She leaves no explanation on retirement, but plans to continue dancing as a guest artist with other companies.

American Ballet Theatre has announced an exchange program that will bring Steven McRae, a principal dancer with The Royal Ballet and Alban Lendorf, a principal dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet, to perform as exchange artists during ABT's 2013 Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House. The exchange program was announced today by Kevin McKenzie, ABT Artistic Director. McRae will dance the role of Lankendem in Le Corsaire at the June 5 matinee and June 8 evening performances. Lendorf will dance the role of Prince Désiré in The Sleeping Beauty at the Saturday, July 6 matinee.

Xiomara Reyes and Eric Tamm will lead the opening night cast of American Ballet Theatre's The Nutcracker at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 7:30 P.M. Choreographed by ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, the holiday classic will be given 12 performances through December 16 at BAM.

American Ballet Theatre's 2012 Fall season at New York City Center opens Tuesday evening, October 16 for seven performances including the World Premiere of a new work by Alexei Ratmansky, a revival and repertory, October 16-20. Principal Dancers for the New York City Center engagement include Roberto Bolle, Herman Cornejo, Marcelo Gomes, Julie Kent, Veronika Part, Xiomara Reyes, Polina Semionova and Cory Stearns.

Principal dancers from the American Ballet Theatre and multimedia artist Herman Kolgen have been added to the summer lineup for the Hollywood Bowl.
