IRT & Random Access Theatre Present The World Premiere Of MIRANDA FROM STORMVILLE

Random Access Theatre opens its 2019 season with the World Premiere of Miranda from Stormville by Adam Bertocci. The production, a modern retelling of Shakespeare's The Tempest, runs March 14 - 24 at the IRT Theater in the West Village. Artistic Director and co-founder, Jennifer Sandella directs. Bertocci's previous productions include the highly acclaimed, Two Gentlemen of Lebowski (published by Simon & Schuster). Miranda from Stormville is part of IRT's 3B Development Series.

New York Live Arts Hosts its 2019 Live Ideas Gala

New York Live Arts 2019 Live Ideas Gala, co-chaired by Matthew Putman, Slobodan Randjelovi and Jon Stryker, and hosted by award-winning director and photographer and noted social activist Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri, pays tribute to Live Arts' annual Live Ideas Festival. The Gala will take place at the Caldwell Factory, 547 W 26th St, New York City on Monday, March 25th starting with a cocktail reception followed by a dinner catered by BITE and performances.

NEWSical Celebrates 3000 Performances

On Jan 26th, 2019 NEWSical The Musical, the 10th longest running Off-Broadway show and 3rd longest running musical revue in NY history, will be celebrating its 3000th performance at Theatre Row.  To celebrate the milestone the show will be receiving a proclamation from Speaker of the City Council, Corey Johnson, as well as a proclamation from the New York State Assembly.

Random Access Theatre Announces Its 2019 Season Of The Storm

Diving into its ninth season, Random Access Theatre is thrilled to introduce the season of the storm in 2019! Focusing around William Shakespeare's The Tempest, three productions over the course of the year will explore themes of magic, loss and forgiveness. First, Adam Bertocci's new play Miranda from Stormville receives its world premiere as part of IRT's 3B Development Series March 14-24. Next, take to the water in late August for a special presentation of Thomas Duffet's restoration comedy The Mock Tempest performed on a boat. And last, return to where it all began in September with The Tempest, performance dates TBD. The 2019 season officially kicks off on Friday, January 25th with a Bar Fun-Raiser at SideBar near Union Square. Featuring games, prizes and booze, tickets are $10-30 and can be purchased at randomaccesstheatre.com.

Jones and Associate Artistic Director Janet Wong, announced Raja Feather Kelly as the 2019-20 Randjelovi/Stryker Resident Commissioned Artist (RCA). The award is one of the most substantial awards for a choreographer in the United States and a significant vehicle for midcareer artists.

IRT Theater is thrilled to present the Oldest Boys Productions in association with Accidental Repertory Theater (John Strasberg, Artistic Director) production of THE FOOL'S LEAR, with text from William Shakespeare's King Lear, adapted and directed by H. Clark Kee. THE FOOL'S LEAR begins performances on Wednesday, January 9 for a limited engagement through Saturday, January 26. Press Opening is Friday, January 11 at 7:30 PM. TDF's Veterans Theatregoing Program Returns for Second Season

TDF is launchng the second season of its TDF Veterans Theatregoing Program. Thanks to NYC Council Speaker Corey Johnson and Chair of the Committee on Veterans Councilman Chaim Deutsch, through New York City Council funding, TDF has been provided with a $100,000 grant to help New York City veterans attend Broadway shows, and share the experience with others from their community.

Yoko Ono Lennon and The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus (Lennon Bus) presented by Other World Computing (OWC), the premier non-profit 501(c)(3) state-of-the-art mobile production facility that provides hands-on creative experiences to students of all ages, announced today the culminating event of the fifth annual month-long Come Together NYC residency: a gallery exhibition at Adorama in New York City on October 17th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm EST. Irish Arts Center Breaks Ground On Landmark New Facility

Actor and IAC Honorary Chair Gabriel Byrne; Corey Johnson, Speaker of the New York City Council; Congressman Joseph Crowley; Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer; New York City Cultural Affairs Commissioner Tom Finkelpearl; Ciaran Madden, Consul General of Ireland; and other City and State dignitaries joined the Irish Arts Center board, staff, and supporters as they broke ground today on the New Irish Arts Center, a heralded multidisciplinary center that will bring people of all backgrounds together through the excellence and dynamism of Irish arts and culture. The ceremony marked the start of construction on Phase One of the new facility, a state-of-the-art new building at 726 11th Avenue, now fully funded and scheduled to open in late 2020.
