A beloved Mexican folktale comes to life October 30-November 11 when Thistle Theatre of Seattle, WA brings their bilingual production Brother Coyote and Sister Fox to the Center for Puppetry Arts. In this family-friendly adaptation, sneaky Brother Coyote devises a plan to catch and eat one of Dona Conchita's chickens. But he's no match for Sister Fox, who outsmarts him with her own plan to keep the chicken for herself.

An exotic, transporting production.

This winner of four B. Iden Payne awards is back by popular demand! Two sisters try to reunite on the Day of the Dead. Along the way Rosita keeps getting lost, but she miraculously finds her way to Conchita through familiar sounds, sights, and smells. The year is 1929, and Tampa-based cigar rollers Marela and Ofelia anxiously await the arrival of their new, dashingly handsome "lectore." Anna in the Tropics is written by Nilo Cruz and won the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 2003. The play centers around the common Cuban tradition in which lectors are employed by cigar factories to educate and entertain the workers through the reading of novels. The arrival of a new lector is a cause for celebration, but when he begins to read aloud from Anna Karenina, he unwittingly becomes a catalyst in the lives of his avid listeners, for whom Tolstoy, the tropics, and the American dream prove a volatile combination.

The Round Barn Theatre at Amish Acres in Nappanee presents "Barry Manilow's Copacabana" Playrights: Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman, Lyricists: Bruce Sussman and Jack Feldman, produced by special arrangement with Musical Theatre, International, July 24 through August 26.
